Cher has opened up about her boyfriend Alexander ‘A.E.’ Edwards and it should come as no surprise that she’s absolutely besotted.
The music legend, 77, and her new beau, 37, may have a 40-year age difference but it seems they’ve gone from strength to strength.

They made their romance known last year and have made a bunch of public appearances together in the months since.
Before dating Alexander, Cher was married to Sonny Bono and the former spouses were in a music duo together called Sonny & Cher. When they split she tied the knot with musician Gregg Allman but their marriage was short-lived and only lasted for four years.
The ‘Strong Enough’ hit-maker said she’s ‘not surprised’ about all the attention her new coupling has received, but admitted she actually wasn’t expecting to fall for a much younger man.

“Alexander’s got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he’s way younger,” she told People. “He’s a beautiful man. Also, I think it’s fun to be interested in somebody else’s love life!"
The pair fell in love over text, something Cher vowed she’d never do but as we all know now, that has definitely changed. After the Moonstruck star met Alexander ‘for about 15 minutes’ at Paris Fashion Week a year ago, she was stunned to find a mutual friend gave her future bae her phone number for her!
"It was really shocking, because people just don’t give out my number. I had been telling all my friends, 'We’re too old to go out with really younger men, and I will never fall in love on text.' So I did what I said not to do!", she shared.

See, this is why you should never say never!
If you’re wondering why Cher went back on her own rules about dating when she met Alexander, she gushed about him being ‘just so special’.
How cute!
Although some fans are concerned about how long the relationship will last given the large age gap, the star said she isn’t worried.

"No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun," she said. "What I learned is that it’s never too late.
"If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, 'Well, this is doomed.' But we’ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time."
