Demi Lovato fans can’t believe her shocking work schedule when she was just a teen

Demi Lovato fans can’t believe her shocking work schedule when she was just a teen

Demi Lovato has lifted the lid on her demanding childhood in the spotlight

Fans of Demi Lovato have been left shocked after discovering how much she worked as a child on a 'insane' schedule.

The revelation has come to light following the release of a Hulu documentary aimed at shedding light on the requirements of child stars, with other celebrities who entered the entertainment industry from a young age, like JoJo Siwa, Christina Ricci and Drew Barrymore, opening up on how it impacted them.

The star-studded new TV special isn't the first time that Demi has reflected on her turbulent rise to fame.

Speaking to Good Morning America earlier this year, the 32-year-old - who shot to fame aged just 15, and was later cast in countless Disney hits, including Camp Rock and Sonny With A Chance - claimed she'd often 'dissociate' to distract herself from the non-stop schedule of her childhood.

"I think there were several common themes, but one that really fascinated me while going on this journey was finding out that so many of us had," she told the broadcaster ahead of her documentary's release.

"We used the same coping skill of dissociation, where I think it was a ... response to the trauma of fame being so young."

It isn't just the pressure of fame that hit the actor and musician so hard during her youth, however, but the mass of appointments she was scheduled to attend.

In a clip which has since gone viral online, Demi could be seen reflecting on her initial years in the spotlight.

"It started out [with] me booking Camp Rock, filming Camp Rock, and then going back to LA, filming a season of my TV show — actually, no, I filmed Camp Rock, then I worked on my album," she said.

"I wrote it, recorded it within about a month. And then I went on tour. After tour, I filmed a season of my TV show Sonny with a Chance.

"Then I filmed Princess Protection Program. After Princess Protection Program, I started making another album. Then I toured. Then I filmed Camp Rock 2. I worked on another album, another season of my TV show."

Naturally, the revelation garnered a few shocked reactions from viewers.

"I hope people really grasp how insane this is," one penned on social media.

"Because most adults wouldn’t even be able to keep up with this back to back schedule of creating and performing… plus she was an actual child who was still learning and developing mentally at that time. crazy".

Meanwhile, another added: "And then all the photo shoots, interviews, red carpets, music video shoots, meetings, everything in between."

A third said: "Gosh i could barely handle 8 periods a day for school let alone touring, a show, a movie, & ANOTHER TOUR."
