Ellen DeGeneres spotted with shocking new look as real reason she fled US is revealed

Ellen DeGeneres spotted with shocking new look as real reason she fled US is revealed

The American talk-show host was seen with wife Portia in a famous Cotswolds hotspot

It looks as though Ellen DeGeneres is planning on sticking to her word after vowing she'll 'never' step foot on US soil again.

This week, the comedian and TV star was papped trying to 'get her Brit on' as she and her partner enjoyed some live music in Jeremy Clarkson's famous Cotswolds pub, where she was also seen donning a rather unusual look.

The former talk-show star hit headlines earlier this week, after a source reportedly close to Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi informed press that the couple had fled overseas.

Speaking to The Wrap, the insider alleged that the pair have set up shop in the Cotswolds, a region of South West England famed for its rolling hills and lush meadows.

So, worlds away from the spotlight and stardom of Hollywood, then?

The reason behind the move is said to be Donald Trump's recent presidential re-election following the loss of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

And apparently, the DeGeneres family have no intention of flying home to the US while the controversial Republican leader remains in the White House, and they'll likely 'never return' until their home-country stabilises politically.

Where the family seemingly do feel comfortable, however, is inside the famous UK pub, The Farmer's Dog, where they were spotted this week sharing a pint and listening to some live music by Irish rock band, The Corrs.

Joined by Australian-born Portia, 51, an Instagram story later uploaded by Ellen saw her donning a brand new look, having seemingly dyed her bright blonde hair a dark shade of brunette.

The couple were also joined by much-loved chart-topper Natalie Imbruglia - famed for her No. 1 hit 'Torn' - as well as several seemingly non-famous friends as they enjoyed their night out in the countryside.

And speaking of A-list pals, Ellen's new favourite pub is actually owned by former Top Gear presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, who runs several eateries in the Cotswolds area.

"… what a great night in the pub with @thecorrsofficial ..the way a good pub night should be ..acoustic set, a few drinks, great friends @jeremyclarkson1 thanks for organising [sic] it!", a post shared on the pub's official Instagram read.

Ellen's move overseas also comes after she took aim at toxicity in Hollywood as part of her recent Netflix special, For Your Approval.

In the stand-up comedy routine, she began by joking, 'I got kicked out of show business', seemingly referring to the bullying accusations made against her self-fronted show in the last few years.

And back in April, she claimed the 'scandal' had a deep impact on her wellbeing, telling Rolling Stone that it had a 'toll on my ego and my self-esteem' as she added that the 'extremes in this business' were difficult.
