Louis Tomlinson was branded the ‘God’ of Glastonbury after pulling off an ‘amazing’ stunt at the festival campsite, having found a very creative solution to one huge problem.

Glastonbury has become one of the most famous music festivals in the world, thanks in no small part to the sheer star power of the talent organisers often reel in.

This year, people enjoyed headliners Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, along with the likes of Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne and Sugababes.

But it’s not just the celebs on the lineup that people get excited about, as the site itself is always teeming with A-listers who are just there to enjoy themselves.

This year, fans spotted everyone from Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones to Maya Jama and Stormzy.

Even Tom Cruise popped up at Coldplay’s set, having joined Simon Pegg and Gillian Anderson to sing Oasis hit ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ with the crowd.

But one famous face who made headlines for a slightly unexpected reason was none other than ex-One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, who became the ‘best man ever’ after some nifty problem shooting.

Many festival-goers were disappointed after organisers confirmed they would not be screening England’s Euro clash against Slovakia yesterday (30 June).

"We used to have a screen here as no-one had any means of finding out what even the result was because we were so cut off from the outside," Emily Eavis said.

"Now obviously, everyone's connected, and I think you know it's a music festival. I'm sure if people want to see it enough, they can check for results or whatever on their phones.

“But hopefully I'm encouraging people to put their phones away and forget about the outside world.”

However, some people became very happy campers indeed when a telly suddenly appeared among the tents, having been rolled in specifically so that they could catch the game.

“Someone has attached a TV to a power generator outside the San Remo bar to show the England v Slovakia game, with a large crowd gathered around it,” one tweeted.

It turned out that it was none other than Tomlinson behind the stunt, telling the BBC: “We brought a TV in - very Glasto, in some stones and a little sand.

“It was a little bit touch and go at times because the signal kept going in and out, but yeah.

“Luckily we got the win. We pulled it off.”

Needless to say, others were over the moon with his efforts, with one commenting online: “Fr though he deserve to be called a god.”

Someone else wrote: “Glasto didn't show football this year, so my man brought his own TV to share the joy.”

A third said it was ‘amazing’, while a fourth added: “He's the best man ever!!!!!!”
