Grimes explained why her son X Æ A-Xii whom she shares with Elon Musk calls her ‘Claire’ rather than 'mom' or 'mama'.
The musician, real name Claire Elise Boucher, has recently been outspoken about how much her son ‘little X’ is appearing in the news, with the four-year-old making several highly publicised appearances alongside President Donald Trump.
She told an X user who asked why she didn’t object to ‘little X’ being paraded around the White House: “I have made it clear I do not approve of that in every conceivable way I know I am. I am desperate to solve it. It is a personal tragedy to me. But currently, I don’t know how to do that.”

One thing many people might not know about the relationship between Grimes and her son is that he doesn’t call her ‘mom’.
And while this might cause many parents to freak out, Grimes couldn’t be happier.

She said in a video for Vogue back in 2021: “Being a mother feels really weird to say for some reason. I don’t identify with that word.

“Which is also weird because X, he says Claire, but he doesn’t say ‘mama’.
“Like maybe he can sense my distaste for the word mother.
“Which I don’t even know why I have a distaste for it, cus I respect it.
“I just don’t identify with it weirdly.”
Grimes later welcomed two more children with Musk: Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Tau Techno Mechanicus, 2.

They join the Tesla CEO’s not inconsiderable brood of 13 children, with author Ashley St. Clair claiming she gave birth to a child with Musk in addition to this.
This month, Grimes made the brave decision to open up about being diagnosed with autism and ADHD.
She explained on Twitter: "I have to say, there's this subculture of I guess 'mental health' accounts that I actually think are like, extreme infohazards.
"Got diagnosed w adhd/ autism this year and realized I'm prob dyslexic which is why I can't spell at all without spellcheck.

"I feel like, had we known this when I was a child I would have worked so much less hard, been on drugs, and so many of the weird obsessions and motivations I had would have been seen as pathological and I could have written off certain things that were very hard for me but I'm glad I over came them.
"Prob wud have been drugged too."
