Just months after being released from prison for second-degree murder, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has seemingly received a taste of the single life she missed out on whilst behind bars and has filed for divorce from her husband.
I know, can you believe how many plot twists that sentence had?
Anyway, for those unfamiliar with Gypsy's criminal history, back in 2015, as a teenager, she and then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn were sent down for their role in the brutal stabbing of her mother, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard.
After being subjected to heinous abuse by her 48-year-old mum - which included being forced to undergo several unnecessary medical procedures and convince everyone around them that she was severely sick - the duo plotted the killing.

Nicholas was handed a life sentence without the possibility of parole after single-handedly carrying out the brutal attack.
Gypsy, meanwhile, was handed a 10-year sentence for second-degree murder for her role in the killing.
And it was during her time behind bars that she naturally called it quits with fellow jailbird Nicholas, and went on to wed Ryan Scott Anderson, whom she met after he wrote a letter to her in prison during the coronavirus pandemic.
The pair were later married in a small ceremony on 21 July 2021 at the Chillicothe Correctional Center.

And in December last year, a now 32-year-old Gypsy was released from Missouri's Chillicothe Correctional Center after being granted parole in September of this year, having served seven years of a ten-year-long second-degree murder sentence for her role in the killing.
Following her release, the couple's relationship appeared to go from strength-to-strength, with the duo consistently sharing loved-up social media snaps, conducting intimate interviews and making x-rated confessions about their sex life.
Despite fans' hopes that Gypsy had finally achieved her happy ending, last week, the pair announced their shock split.

In a post on her private social media page as seen by PEOPLE magazine on 29 March, Gypsy revealed: "Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou.
"I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am."
In the days following Gypsy's news, Ryan also broke his silence on the matter by taking to TikTok.

"Hey everybody, I just wanna say thank y’all for the support and the nice messages," he began. "I'm at a friend's watching WrestleMania right now, it's great. I'm enjoying it. I've been a wrestling nerd for a long time.
"I’m just living my life guys. Y’all will see what really happened on Lifetime, we were filming a lot. So stay tuned for that. If you support me, follow me, I will post more stuff eventually. God bless."
And this week, Gypsy has cut ties with her former flame altogether by officially filing for divorce.

Again, according to PEOPLE Magazine, the Lafourche Parish Clerk of the Court confirmed via email that she'd filed her plea at 1:58 p.m. local time.
"The filing has been sent to the assigned Judge for review and to schedule any hearing dates if necessary," Annette M. Fontana, Lafourche Parish Clerk of the Court, told the publication.
A Lifetime docu-series that follows Gypsy's new life outside of prison is set to be released later this year.
