While many eyes were on the outfits at Monday night’s star-studded Met Gala, some fans were left feeling distracted by a sad detail in a photo of Hugh Jackman all suited up for the event.
With a theme for 2024 of ‘Garden of Time’, the bash saw A-listers from across the globe turn up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in their finest garms, from Tyla’s custom sand-covered Balmain gown to Kim Kardashian’s extreme corset-and-cardi look.
Some celebs opted not to hit the theme quite as hard, instead opting for more of a classic red carpet look – like The Greatest Showman star Hugh Jackman, who wore a black tux and bowtie with shiny shoes.

While the 55-year-old has previously attended the Met Gala with wife Deborra-Lee Furness, for this year's do, Jackman attended alone.
The couple – who share two kids together - announced last September that they were calling it quits after nearly 30 years together, in a bid to pursue ‘individual growth’.
This time, Jackman posed for a picture alone before heading out, a full-body shot showing off his look.

But many fans found they were distracted by the background of the photo, having spotted a number of books, bowls, an exercise mat and other items randomly stacked up by the wall.
One tweeted: “Hugh needs to furnish his apartment/townhouse. Poor guy. Looks handsome, though.”
Someone joked that it looked as though his coffee table had been stolen, while another quipped: “I volunteer to help pick out furniture.”
A fourth suggested: “There’s these places that sell side tables and wall units. I think it could really help you with lifting the vibe of the room. Oh and nice suit!”

Indeed, the room looks sparsely decorated, making it look like a bit of a bachelor pad.
However – as one fan pointed out - we don’t know for sure that it’s actually his home.
“Pretty sure, he's not at home!” they said, while another defended the actor by adding: “Who cares about the room? When you are Hugh Jackman, the most versatile actor on the planet and he looks like that?”

While Jackman’s tux didn’t appear to hit the ‘Garden of Time’ theme as obviously as those in head-to-toe florals, it turns out there’s a poignant detail behind it that helps add some strong relevance.
Sharing a selfie on his way to the Met Gala, he explained that the outfit was actually something of a throwback, fitting in nicely to that concept of time.
“My original Tom Ford tuxedo,” he said of his suit, which he had worn to his first Met Gala way back in 2004, when he was joined by his then-wife.
“Refitted and repaired.”
