James Blunt has revealed he’s going to legally change his name - but there's something his fans need to make happen first.
The 50-year-old British singer, famous for tear-jerking bangers like 'You're Beautiful' and 'Goodbye My Lover', has been a household name ever since he popped onto the scene back in 2004 following the release of his uber successful debut album, Back to Bedlam.
However, it seems the mode of address he's become famous with may be changed imminently for a pretty hilarious reason.

The singer, who's never taken himself particularly seriously, explains all in the hilarious video below:
James took to Instagram last week to share his latest career news and it's sparked quite the reaction with fans.
In the video, the hitmaker teased: "My name is James Blunt, and you have the power to absolutely f**k my life."

Promoting his latest project, James jokingly continued: "I know you've heard the rumours and they're true.
"I'm re-releasing my debut album Back to Bedlam on 11 October, something that has kept me consistently rich for the past 20 years."
As a way to 'give back' to his 'adoring public', James announced: "If Back to Bedlam re-enters the charts at number one, I will legally change my name.

"What will I change it to? Well, that's entirely up to you."
He carried on: "I've been called many things in my life: most hated man in pop, annoying, James beige, James c**nt - rude.
"I'll let the people decide."
James then finished up, stating the T&C's of his pledge: "But if it doesn't go to number one, I'm not changing my name.

"It's safe to say this is the most important democratic moment of the year."
Naturally, James' fans went absolutely ham in the comment section sharing their bizarre ideas for what his name could be eventually changed to - should the album re-enter the charts.
"Blunty McBlunt face it has to be," penned one Instagram user.

A fifth exclaimed: "Just Bob. First name Just. Second name Bob."
"Hugh Janus," added a sixth, while another praised: "Just when I thought i couldn’t love you any more..."
And a final Instagram user echoed: "James Blunt is a master class in how to take negativity on the chin and redirect it with a sense of humour.
"You may not like his music, but he’s got such a good vibe about him."
Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this story pans out.
