Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from husband Ben Affleck and court documents show that their date of separation reportedly occurred on a very particular date.
The news of the star's divorce broke today following months of speculation regarding the status of their relationship.
Back in July, a source told the Daily Mail that the pair - who'd previously dated back in the 90s, prior to Affleck's marriage to fellow Daredevil star Jennifer Garner - had 'finalised the divorce papers' a month prior, but were 'waiting for the right time to drop them'.

"At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn’t."
And as per court documents obtained today (21 August) by the BBC, the 'Jenny From The Block' singer filed for divorce yesterday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Neither Lopez, 54, or Affleck, 51 - who tied the knot back in 2022 after almost two decades apart following their split in 2004 - have yet commented on their split.

However, this hasn't stopped fans from taking note of a heartbreaking detail about the date they've decided to call time on their romance.
The couple's first ceremony took place in Las Vegas in July 2022, which was followed up with a second ceremony in Georgia just a month later.
And strangely, it is actually two years since the exact day of the second ceremony that their high-profile divorce has hit the headlines.

"Filling for divorce on your wedding anniversary is crazy," one person wrote on social media today.
Another went on: "It's sad to see them part ways, especially on such a significant date. Wishing them both peace and healing during this difficult time."
As we say, however, the couple's split follows mass speculation that they'd actually parted ways a long time earlier.

Earlier this year, mother-of-two Lopez - who has previously been married three times - was seen holidaying separately from her hubby, and opted not to wear her wedding ring on 4th of July weekend, which she also spent alone.
Last month, 'Bennifer' were also reported to have put their 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom California mansion on the market for $68,000,000.
Fans also noticed that Affleck wasn't in attendance for the premiere of his wife's Netflix movie Atlas in Mexico - where she sensationally responded directly to divorce rumours when asked by a reporter.
"You know better than that," she warned at the time.
