Jessica Alba once issued a blunt response to claims that she was kidnapped as a young girl.
Being a Hollywood actress often means that you will always have people looking into your past.
But if some aspects of your past are perhaps a little terrifying, the upheaval of it might be quite distressing.

While Alba has been out of the limelight for some time, choosing instead to quietly work on her own projects, a rumour previously circulated online that the Fantastic Four star was once abducted.

According to the Daily Mail, when she was just 15, Alba was allegedly kidnapped while filming the television series Flipper in Australia in 1996.
Scarily, it was reported that the alleged case was never solved.

According to the reports, Alba’s family, friends and crew were left scrambling to find her when she disappeared without a trace while working on the TV show.
All in all, the search is said to have lasted 14 hours.
The story goes on to allege that teenage Alba was eventually found tied up and gagged in the trunk of a car miles away from their shooting location, and that prior to her 'kidnapping', she had received unsettling phone calls.
However, it's said that authorities never found any evidence that linked the calls to her so-called abduction, and they were also unable to identify any suspects or motives and so the case went cold.

That’s a very horrid situation to have been put into, and especially for any child.
In a 2005 interview with Complex Magazine, Alba was asked about the alleged kidnapping.

It was there that she set the record straight.

The actor was asked: “According to the Internet, while you were filming the remake of Flipper you were kidnapped! Is that accurate?”
To which Alba responded: “No.”
Then, the interviewer asked again: “You were never kidnapped?”
That was when she repeated it, again: “No.”

To this, the interviewer replied: “Disappointing.”
Apparently, the rumour resurfaced with a simple tweet on Twitter and it was flagged with a community note to state that it wasn’t true.
Alba has said she's always been portrayed in a certain way in Hollywood but recently made a statement about what she did to keep predators away.
On the latest episode of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?, she explained: “I guess I understood that I needed to help sell the product. And they sell it how they do, so I understood it as a business decision and a strategy.
“And so I was able to distance myself from it. But I guess, you know, you can't change other people's minds about what they may or may not think of you.”
However, Alba doesn’t regret it as she added: “I don't think that there's anything wrong with owning your sexuality.
“I just frankly was definitely not that person. I was very nervous about all of that, and I was quite uncomfortable in my own skin.”
