Kanye West issues public apology to Kamala Harris as he makes social media return amid Grammys drama

Kanye West issues public apology to Kamala Harris as he makes social media return amid Grammys drama

Kanye West took to Twitter to share a series of bizarre statements

Kanye West made headlines this weekend after rocking up to the 67th annual Grammy Awards ceremony alongside his wife Bianca Censori, who donned a barely-there get-up.

Now, while the internet was sent into an absolute spiral over Censori's controversial outfit, with some fans even questioning whether she could face jail time, it was far from the only thing they noticed about the celebrity couple.

During the day of the Grammys, West - who was up for Best Rap Song with his track 'Carnival' before losing to Kendrick Lamar’s 'Not Like Us' - took it upon himself to issue a public apology to none other than Kamala Harris as he made his social media return in a series of tweets.

Prior to this, West's most recent post on Twitter was last month (14 January).

Yesterday he tweeted a series of posts to the social media platform, one of which read: "Thank you to the Grammies for nominating Carnival."

"The world is so lucky to have me," he penned in another while a third stated: "Trumps back in office. Ye’s back a billionaire. The world might just be ok."

A fourth tweet of his declared: "Damn. Just warming up. I’m rich. I can say whatever the f*ck I want. I do this for the broke me. Shout out to broke me this ones for you."

"F*ck reading and anyone who can do it," he wrote in a fifth while his last tweet before posting a series of polaroid snaps of him and Censori's Grammys outfit pics saw an apology aimed at Harris.

"Kamala seems like a very nice human I just wanna say sorry to her kids," he shared, seemingly referencing an explicit comment about the former vice president in a since-deleted tweet.

The only account West - who was reinstated on Twitter in 2023 after previously being banned for sharing antisemitic conspiracies - currently follows on Twitter is Elon Musk.

He likewise also follows just one person on Instagram, too - his wife, Censori.

She also only follows him.

Prior to this, however, West unfollowed everyone on his IG account - except 'frenemy' Taylor Swift.

For those unfamiliar with the tensions between the hit-makers, their very public dispute kicked off almost 15 years ago when Taylor - who was then an up-and-coming country artist, aged just 19 - was honoured with an MTV Video Music Award for the Best Female Video.

Kanye presented the accolade, only to rudely interrupt the country star, who told viewers at home at Beyoncé should have walked away with the gong.

A very clearly flustered Taylor was subsequently left both red-faced and embarrassed, and has since endured a public feud with the 'Stronger' rapper who has ceaselessly slammed her in his lyrics.
