Katie Piper has opened up about her ongoing health issues as she admitted looking after her body is a 'job'.
Katie, 41, suffered from traumatic injuries following an acid attack in 2008 at the hands of her former boyfriend and an accomplice.
The model was just 24 years old when her ex, Daniel Lynch, 47, plotted an acid attack against her.

In March of that same year, he was helped by Stefan Sylvestre, who soaked Katie in acid in broad daylight.
He fled the country after committing the crime, while Lynch was apprehended and sent to prison.

Katie - who is blind in one eye as a result of the acid attack - has recently spoken out about the incident and explained that she's never fully been 'discharged' from medical care.

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: “I’m never discharged. I have to go back for my eyes, nose, and throat.
"I learnt at such a young age the value of looking after your mind, your body, how our health is a privilege and how it can suddenly change.
"I’ve had this unique experience as a 20-something where I know what it is like to be incapacitated, to be ill, to be in hospital for a long time. I always take myself back to that memory of 'Do all this now, so when you are older, your quality of life is the best it can be'.
"I want to be healthy. I take looking after my body as a job. I want the best from it."

Katie also recently revealed she will be having another surgery to protect her left eye through the use of a prosthetic eye shell.
She wrote on social media: “After many years battling with my eye health, I’ve reached the end of road somewhat, and the decision has been made to try a prosthetic eye shell.
“This marks the start of a journey to have an artificial eye, with an incredible medical team behind me. As always I’m incredibly grateful to all those in the NHS and private health care system for their talent and kindness.”

The model added: “I will share my journey, I’m hopeful and nervous about being able tolerate it and would love to hear from any of you in the comments if you’ve been on this journey or have any advice…”

One wrote: “You’re very brave Katie x I’ve been following your journey since your first documentary and I always get so excited every time I hear you’re doing something new or featuring in something new x you’re very brave x be kind to yourself."
