Katy Perry has revealed the truth behind her high profile spat with fellow pop star Taylor Swift - and opened up about where the two now stand.
Swift's song 'Bad Blood', which was joined by a music video full of famous faces, is rumoured to have been inspired by a row with Perry.
In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Swift said of an unnamed celeb who inspired 'Bad Blood': "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
To add insult to injury, during an appearance on The Late Show with James Corden in 2017, Perry said of Swift: "Honestly, it's really like she started it and it's time for her to finish it. It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I'm like, 'Okay, cool, cool, cool, that's how you want to deal with it? Karma!'"

Luckily for us pop girlies, it seems the two have now firmly buried the hatchet.
In an interview with Howard Stern, Perry admitted she wants to 'set an example' to young female fans.
She said: "Gossip in life can take the elevator but the truth takes the stairs. It just takes time."
Perry then acknowledged that their feud was blown out of proportion by the media during their fall out.

The 'Firework' singer added: "What I’m so grateful for is we did get to make up publicly and got to be an example of redemption for young girls."
She then said: "I always wanted the best for her and now we can talk about the best we want for each other."
Perry concluded: "You never see, like, articles about Ed Sheehan and Justin Bieber in a fight or Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan in a fight.

"It's gonna take audiences and media and artists a lot of just shifting of consciousness.”
As well as inspiring 'Bad Blood', the feud was thought to have inspired Perry's hit 'Swish Swish'.
The two eventually publicly reconciled in the music video for Swift's song 'You Need to Calm Down' in June 2019.
Perry also confided in Ellen DeGeneres about the fall out the same year.

She said: “It was actually just a misunderstanding but we have such big groups of people that like to follow us, and so they kind of started turning against each other a little bit too."
