Real reason Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker hide son Rocky's face as she shares adorable birthday post

Real reason Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker hide son Rocky's face as she shares adorable birthday post

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker welcomed their son, Rocky, last year

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have decided to keep their son Rocky's life private for a particular reason.

The reality TV star and the Blink-182 drummer welcomed their baby boy in November 2023, and with their other children from previous relationships having grown up in the spotlight - with Kardashian's three children with ex-partner Scott Disick having all featured on Keeping Up With The Kardashians - this time, the couple are going down a different route.

Whenever Rocky has been featured on their social media, his face is always obscured or facing away from the camera, and a recent post from Kardashian also followed suit.

Taking to Instagram today (8 November), the 45-year-old shared a sweet collection of snaps for her youngest son's first birthday.

The mum-of-four went all out to celebrate with a Disney park themed birthday party, complete with themed pretzels, animals in Disney headbands, and an appearance from the mouse himself.

She wrote in the caption: "Happy 1," however, in the one photo where their son could be seen, Kardashian blurred his face with a red love-heart emoji.

Fans were quick to point out the blur, however, Rocky's face has been leaked before.

And previously, Kardashian herself elaborated on why they have decided to keep their son out of the public eye in an episode of The Kardashians.

In the episode from a couple months back, she voiced her concerns about an upcoming trip to Australia.

"I’m starting to get a little bit of anxiety about going to Australia," she said. "Rocky hasn't been seen and in California there's a law that if I don't show the baby's face, the paparazzi have to blur his image, but in Australia there are supposedly no paparazzi laws, so they can take a photo and sell their image."

In another episode, she also noticed a 'stalker’ paparazzi photographer following her and her older children during a family trip to the beach in Sydney.

"The paparazzi are everywhere,” she told the camera.

And by the sounds of things, the Poosh founder isn't alone in her fear, with husband Travis voicing similar concerns in an interview in September.

After the photo leak, he said they'd 'rather keep him out of the spotlight', adding if he could do 'everything different' with his other children, then he would do so.

He said: "Unfortunately, someone finally got a photo of him, but we’d rather keep him out of the spotlight. If I could do everything different, I would have done the same thing with my [older] kids.

"I think it’s weird to grow up and you’re 15 or 12, and you’re like, 'Mom, you posted this of me?'"
