Kylie Jenner went viral earlier this week for detailing the ins and outs of her breast augmentation - a move which prompted backlash from one prolific plastic surgeon.
But interestingly, this isn't the first time that The Kardashians star has been praised for her 'refreshing' and 'transparent' approach to cosmetic procedures and beauty enhancing treatments.
For those out of the loop with this week's confession, British social media star Rachel Leary mentioned the 27-year-old on TikTok, asking her to list the specifics of her boob job, with the content creator describing it as the 'most perfect, natural looking' she'd ever seen.
And to fans' surprise, Jenner did just that.
"445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! silicone!!! garth fisher!!! hope this helps lol," the mother-of-two penned in the comments.
Jenner detailed the procedure in the comments (Instagram/@kyliejenner) Jenner was subsequently applauded for the move, being branded things like 'refreshing', 'transparent', 'one of the girls' and 'so real' for refusing to shy away from the reality of her surgery.
One gushed of the brunette beauty: "Honestly I LOVE this from her!!!!! Yes Kylie with the openness and honesty. BIG aura points," one fan gushed of the star. Another admitted: "No because I’ve been dying for this information."
Not everyone was pleased by Jenner's confession, however - especially cosmetic surgeon Dr Terry Dubrow, who critiqued Jenner for seemingly normalising such procedures while having a young audience of fans.
"I'm very happy that she's admitting to having that done, but I think a year ago she said she regretted it," The Botched medic told TMZ, reminding readers that Jenner was 19 when she went under the knife.
"And then her friend [Stassie Karanikolaou] said she regretted it too. So the message you’re giving out - I think she should say it’s great, but I think it’s important that she caution people."
The surgeon issued a stern warning (Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic) The on-screen surgeon went on to hit out: "She had it at age 19. Age 19 is not cool to have a breast augmentation, right?
"It’s pretty young. So when someone like Kylie can really move the needle like that, I think she sort of admits to having procedure done, it’s better to admit it and say, you know, maybe I shouldn’t have done it so early.
"Because when Kylie admits to it, everyone’s gonna go ahead and get it."
In the years she's been in the spotlight, however, Jenner had been praised for using her platform for airing her insecurities.
She previously admitted to undergoing temporary lip filler as a teenager, admitting during a 2021 episode of her family's hit reality show: "I had really small lips, and I didn't ever think about it until I had one of my first kisses.
"A guy said to me, 'Oh my God, you're such a good kisser, but you have such small lips,' or something like that. From then on, I felt unkissable."
In the years that followed, she had her temporary filler dissolved, and had permanent new filler put back in to create a more 'natural' look, as per PEOPLE.
Kylie also admitted to having had lip filler (Instagram/@kylierjenner) She also told HommeGirls in 2023 that lip filler 'was the best thing I've ever done'.
Jenner first confirmed her breast augmentation surgery that same year, claiming she underwent the procedure aged 19 prior to getting pregnant with her daughter Stormi, 'not thinking I would have a child when I was 20'.
As Dr Dubrow rightfully explained, Jenner later went on to admit some partial regret over the surgery - specifically when it came to having it done at such a young age.
"I had beautiful breasts. Just gorgeous. Perfect size, perfect everything," she said on a The Kardashians episode.
"And I just wish, obviously, I never got them done to begin with. [I] recommend anyone thinking about it to wait after children."
On several other occasions, Jenner has insisted she has never undergone cosmetic surgery on her face, though she is partial to the rare injectable.
She told PAPER Magazine in 2019: "People think I fully went under the knife and completely reconstructed my face, which is completely false.
"I’m terrified! I would never. They don’t understand what good hair and makeup and, like, fillers, can really do."
