Mandy Moore's family find refuge at another A List celeb's house amid LA fires

Mandy Moore's family find refuge at another A List celeb's house amid LA fires

The 'This Is Us' actress previously faced criticism over her response to the fires

After losing her entire family home to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, Mandy Moore has today revealed she's been taken in by another A-list couple.

The actress' update comes after she was met with backlash for starting a GoFundMe account to raise money for her family following their devastating loss, despite being a huge name star.

Earlier this week, the 40-year-old was among several celebrities to reveal her entire home had been destroyed as a result of the ongoing fires last week - alongside the likes of Miles Teller, Paris Hilton, Rainn Wilson, and Cameron Mathison.

Unfortunately, however, her heartache was followed up by criticism from online trolls, after she shared the link to a donations page aimed at sending money to her brother-in-law and his wife, who were pregnant with their first child, and had also lost their home.

"With their first baby on the way in a matter of weeks, they need our support now more than ever," Moore wrote on Instagram. "Griff is a touring musician and also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussion he uses to make a living."

After surpassing the initial goal and hitting a staggering $199,000, Moore was slapped with suggestions that she should donate her own wealth to their cause, prompting her to tell her critics to 'kindly f off'.

"And people questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic," she hit back on Instagram.

As we say, however, despite the backlash, Moore and her loved ones have since received some positive news, receiving refuge from fellow on-screen star Hilary Duff and her family during their time of need.

It was Moore's brother-in-law Griff who shared the latest update on Instagram, revealing that the This Is Us actress had been approached by Duff and her husband Matthew Koma, and that they were now residing in their home.

"Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it wise to set up a GoFundMe for us to help with everything moving forward," Griff wrote in an emotional statement.

He also revealed that Moore's kids, August 'Gus' Harrison, three, Oscar 'Ozzie' Bennett, two, and three-month-old Louise Everett, as well as her husband Taylor Goldsmith, had been taken in.

"Not to mention they are currently housing my brother’s family," Griff went on. "They’ve taken care of my entire family from the moment this began.

"I will never be able to thank them adequately. This is the kindest act any human could do for another.

"They are the most beautiful, selfless people we’ve ever known."

Former Lizzie McGuire actress Duff, 37, lives in Beverly Hills with her hubby and her children Luca Cruz Comrie, 12, Banks Violet Bair, six, and Mae James Bair, three.

Dawes frontman Griff also gave his followers an insight into his current situation.

"It’s impossible to express how much we’re feeling right now," he spoke of his own heartache. "We’ve lost everything.

"8 years of memories made in our house. 20 years of gear. My wife @quintessentiallykit was applying the finishing touches to the nursery for our baby boy who’s due in a few weeks.

"She had, throughout the years, poured her heart and soul into making the property a literal piece of paradise. Anyone who had the chance the visit can attest."

He added: "All of these houses are gone. The thing we mourn the most is the loss of the community.

"Unfortunately, we aren’t the only people reckoning with this. We’ve all had to watch our home, the city we love so much, transform overnight into an infernal hellscape. And it’s by no means over…."

He also thanked his followers for the money they've raised with the hotly-debated GoFundMe page, adding: "I’ve never been so moved in my life. We are completely blown away. I can’t talk or think about it without crying."
