Liam Payne’s trip to Argentina came to a tragic end yesterday when he suffered a fatal fall from a third floor hotel balcony.
He had been in South America to attend the concert of former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan, having been seen dancing at the Movistar Arena show two weeks ago alongside his girlfriend Kate Cassidy.
The singer fell from a balcony at the hotel CasaSur in Palermo, Buenos Aires, with police confirming they had been dispatched there after receiving a call informing them of ‘an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol'.

Alberto Crescenti, the head of the state emergency medical system, said on Argentina's Todo Noticias TV channel that the singer had fallen from his hotel room into a courtyard.
Crescenti said in a statement: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.
"At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation."

Cassidy, who is yet to speak out publicly on his death, had decided to leave Argentina ahead of her partner, with social media posts showing she'd travelled back to Florida two days before his untimely death.
On Monday (14 October), she shared a video on TikTok to document her journey home, telling fans the reason why she was leaving before Payne.
She said: “Travel back to Florida with me. I was so ready to leave.

“Honestly, I love South America but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for like five days and it turned into two weeks and I was just like I need to go home.”
The footage showed Cassidy’s journey home, as she told followers that she was happy to be back home and looked forward to getting into bed.
Just one hour before he died, a post was shared to Payne's Snapchat, showing him talking about his plans for the day.

He said: "Today, we ride. We're going to ride some horses.
"Think I'm going to play polo again, which is going to put me out of action for about six weeks.
"It's so hard to do, number one, my back and my neck from swinging that hammer around... or mallet, I think it's called if you're in the know. It hurts a lot, it's very tough to do."
Many fans pointed out that the posts may have been scheduled, with Cassidy having posted a 'catch up' post of photos on TikTok four days beforehand, including pictures of her horse-riding.
