Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson's fiancé Ryan issues heartbreaking statement after she’s hospitalised again

Made In Chelsea's Louise Thompson has undergone emergency surgery after going into septic shock

Ryan Libbey - fiancé of Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson - has admitted he doesn't know 'how much more she can take' after revealing that the mother-of-one had been rushed to hospital after going into septic shock.

Thompson is understood to have undergone emergency surgery in the last week, marking her second stint under the knife this year amid her ongoing battle with ulcerative colitis.

The former E4 star received her chronic diagnosis back in 2018, and underwent surgery in February of this year to be fitted with a stoma bag in order to manage her pain.

Thompson, 34, has also been battling severe health issues since the birth of her first child, a son named Leo, in 2021 during which she was hospitalised for two weeks.

A tear in her womb sustained during an emergency caesarian led triggered a haemorrhage which saw the star lose three litres of blood.

She was subsequently also diagnosed with both post-traumatic stress disorder and lupus in the weeks that followed.

Tragically, however, despite having made major strides with her mental health over the last year - and consistently keeping her fans in the loop, Thompson was hospitalised twice in February following huge setbacks in her physical wellbeing.

Sadly, however, her fiancé Libbey was this week forced to reveal that she'd once again been rushed into hospital for emergency surgery after suffering with severe stomach pain.

Talking on the He Said She Said podcast that he and Thompson share today (13 November) for a 'different' type of episode, Libbey immediately became teary when discussing her absence.

"Sadly Louise is not here this week," the fitness instructor explained, adding that she'd gone into septic shock.

"She had to go back into hospital almost two weeks ago for another emergency operation in the same tummy area that she's been recovering from since earlier this year with her stoma surgery. It was completely unexpected."

Libbey went on to admit he 'can't believe' that his family have once again been plunged into such an uncertain situation.

"My heart beat is skipping around all over the place, which is an indication of how heavy and raw it all feels," he continued. "It's very unexpected and a difficult pill to swallow.

"It's completely broken me. Her recovery has been up and down. Post-surgery she was in septic shock, which shows the severity of how bad things got."

In the caption to a teaser of the episode - posted on Instagram - Libbey disclosed how it felt to take part in an episode of the podcast without his other-half.

"When I walked into the room to record this episode, seeing just one chair and one microphone moved me to tears," he admitted.

"I had to leave the house for a few minutes to gather my emotions, so I ran down to the florist to get a bunch of flowers for the set of the podcast.

"I wanted to make every effort to get this right and to keep things consistent, I wanted to do the podcast justice and make Louise proud.

"So I sat down for another difficult conversation and opened up about the truth on where Louise has been for the last 2 weeks."

Thompson posted on Instagram today to update her followers about her latest stay in hospital. She said: "I really hate to say it but I’ve been back in hospital feeling very poorly (I feel like the word ‘poorly’ warrants the label of an Onomatopoeia - everything about it resembles elderly, frail illnessy stuff). As I say it I feel like a grandma blowing out bubbles for words.

"It looks and sounds sick. Like I did. Even though I’m also confusingly only 34 and incredibly strong. Mentally and physically STRONG. If I do say so myself.

"I’m almost embarrassed at this point."
