Madonna first hit the scene back in the 1980s and, four decades on, she's proven to still be one of the world's biggest stars.
Known for a whole discography of smash-hits like 'Material Girl' and 'La Isla Bonita', the 66-year-old has clearly cemented herself in the Hollywood hall of fame for her musical capabilities.
But it seems Madonna could have also forged a career in an entirely different industry after she revealed one of her biggest regrets during her years in the limelight.

Over two decades back, the award-winning pop icon 'turned down' a role for a film, which has since gone down in cinematic history as arguably one of the best films ever made.
Starring the likes of Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne - the film - which first hit our screens back in 1999 - has also gone on to become a trilogy and is set for an upcoming fourth instalment to the franchise.
If you hadn't already guessed it, the film in question was none other than The Matrix.

And, according to Madge, she rejected the offer to co-star in the sci-fi blockbuster.
Speaking on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon back in 2022, Madonna claimed: "I also turned down the role in The Matrix. Can you believe that?
"I wanted to kill myself."
She confessed to the talk show host that the decision still remained one of her biggest regrets in her career, which nearly spans four whole decades prompting Fallon to sympathise: "Poor Madonna.

"That’s like one of the best movies ever made," Madonna continued to which Fallon asked: "You don’t regret anything?"
"A teeny-tiny part of me regrets just that one moment in my life," she admitted.
Elsewhere in the convo, she also admitted her regret after turning down what went on to become Michelle Pfeiffer's role in Tim Burton’s 1992 Batman Returns.
"I regret that I turned down Catwoman," she said, noting that the part is 'fierce'.

The 'Holiday' singer left people terrified last June after her management team revealed she'd been admitted to the intensive care unit following a serious bacterial infection.
Fears over the singer's health only intensified after reports emerged that Madonna had been induced into a coma, after she was said to have been found unresponsive in her New York City apartment.
Then, in April, she opened up about the traumatic ordeal and shared a sweet message to her entourage.
She took to Instagram a few months back (25 April) to share an update with her millions of followers.

She posted a series of sweet snaps of herself and her team including musicians and dancers who see referred to as her 'children'.
Madonna captioned the photo dump: "On the day before our 80th show of the Celebration Tour I need to acknowledge my incredibly talented children who carried me through this Journey each of them bringing their own unique talent to the stage."
She explained that rehearsals began 'over a year ago' with almost a two-month break waiting for the singer to 'recover from a near-death experience'.
"They never stopped practicing… they never stopped cheering me on and supporting me," Madonna continued. "Their enthusiasm kept me Going!!!
"They were also going to school and rehearsing every night. !! . am so very proud of all of them."
The Grammy award-winning hit-maker continued: "I think what my children learned the most this year of rehearsing and performing is that if you want to follow your dreams, you have to work hard for them.
"And if all of them choose something different later in life, they will never forget this year of blood, sweat, and tears. Nor will I."
She aptly signed off the heartfelt post adding: "It’s a CELEBRATION!"
