It's always nice to receive a compliment from a stranger - but when said stranger is actually one of the world's hottest pop stars it hits a whole lot different.
And that was exactly the case for one man whose outfit got complimented by none other than Harry Styles.
However, in a hilarious twist of fate, the fashionista had absolutely no idea who the Grammy award-winning singer was after sharing a heartwarming story which left the internet in tears.

The man in question, Darnell Davis who goes by the handles @the_nell_man and @wonders_of7 online, took to Instagram yesterday (16 September) to share with his followers the story titled 'A Pop Star Complimented My Fit'.
Darnell explained he was going about his day strolling through Regents Park in London when all of a sudden 'this guy stops me'.
"'I like your Fit'," Darnell said, quoting the 'guy' to which he replied: "Thanks, bro, you looking fly too!"
He recalled how they ended up getting to chatting when 'suddenly' a woman approached them and asked for a picture.
"I’m flattered (clearly, the fit was on point), but she points at my new friend and says, 'No, I mean with him!'," Darnell continued.
He ended up taking three photos of the pair, admitting he felt like he'd just been 'promoted to part-time photographer'.
"Then a small crowd starts forming, all wanting pictures with this guy. I’m thinking, Okay, who is this dude!? So I lean over and whisper, 'Who are you?'" Darnell continued.
It was at this point that the 'Watermelon Sugar' hit-maker 'grinned' and revealed he was a singer to which Darnell asked him what his name was only to find out the bloke he was casually chatting away to was the Harry Styles.
"Now, here’s the funny part," Darnell confessed. "I had absolutely no idea who he was. So I do a quick Google search, and not only do I find out he’s crazy famous, but he was born on February 1st—the same day as my mother. Talk about a cosmic twist!"
He ended his sweet Instagram post sharing with followers the 'moral of the story': "Stay open to the universe, appreciate every encounter, and always be kind—you never know when you’re about to meet a global pop star (even if you don’t recognise him)."
Darnell's story has since gone viral across social media with many rushing in to share their reactions to the chance encounter.
One Instagram user gushed: "That’s so wholesome and the fact that the birthday is the same as his mother is even more adorable."
"Loving this story," praised a second. "Harry is so grounded and humble. And so so human.
"Thank you for share this story to all of us. You are a beautiful human being too."
Another wrote: "What a funny and sweet story! You’re a lucky man [sic]! By the smiles I can tell it was a good time! Love the fit!"
And a final Instagram user echoed: "When the universe puts two good humans together."
