Is Nick Jonas a Republican supporter? It certainly looks that way...
The US pop singer has this week come under fire this week after appearing to cosy up to controversial Tesla boss Elon Musk on social media, who himself is a proud confidant of presidential elect Donald Trump.

It's somewhat rare nowadays for Hollywood stars to explicitly demonstrate their political preferences - especially when it comes to the right-wing movement seemingly spreading throughout the US.
Unlike the public support that Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received from big-name stars ahead of last month's election - including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, and Bruce Springsteen - only a handful of stars have spoken out in support of Trump.
The biggest A-list supporters of the often-feared Republican party, which is affiliated with anti-LGBTQ+, anti-female, and anti-immigrant values, have been Caitlyn Jenner, Kanye West, Dr Phil, and apparently, Nick Jonas.
The singer had previously given very minimal indication as to the political party his family supports, though he and brothers Joe and Kevin did film a video alongside current president Joe Biden, a Democratic leader, back in 2021.

Neither Nick nor his brothers reacted to Harris' defeat last month, however.
And his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra, told the Sunday Times in 2019 that the couple often 'tried to be apolitical', and instead, sought to 'cheer for humanity'.
The star also joked that her 32-year-old husband should run for president, claiming the pair 'really want to make a change'.

This said, however, Nick has this week come under fire for sharing some apparent banter with Twitter (now X) boss Elon Musk on the social media site.
After pledging his own support for Trump throughout the duration of his presidential campaign, Musk, 53, was hired by the politician as the new co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency last month.
In fact, the pair seem to have grown so close over the years that, in response to the news, people on social media used AI to turn Musk into Trump's 'First Lady' an for 'official portrait', jestingly reimagining him in Melania Trump’s upcoming role.
Naturally, therefore, when musician Nick was seen interacting with Musk on X this week, fans were bitterly disappointed.

For those who haven't seen it yet, on Tuesday, Nick shared a photo of Musk pointing, captioning it, 'Take us to the year 3000', seemingly referencing one of his band's former songs.
Musk shared a GIF that saw Nick and his brother Kevin spinning a table around - likely responding to something political - with the caption, 'My, how the tables have turned'.
As we say, however, the interaction hasn't gone down too well with some social media, who claim to be disappointed by Nick's affiliation with a Republican government leader.

After others begged him to 'delete' the tweet, one penned: "i know it’s hard for you guys to comprehend but rich people don’t care about us; even nick jonas."
Another went on: "And just like that…. You ruined everything AGAIN Nicholas".
A third vowed they'd 'go see what unproblematic "i stay out of the way" Kevin Jonas is up to' amid the controversy.
