Pete Davidson reveals how long it will actually take to remove all of his tattoos after debuting new look

The Saturday Night Live star opened up about the seriously lengthy process

Pete Davidson has opened up about exactly how long it will actually take to remove all of his tattoos after debuting his brand-new look.

Now, the 31-year-old Saturday Night Live comedian has become well-known for his heavily-tattooed appearance with inkings covering a pretty huge portion of his body.

However, Davidson has since decided after collecting his hundreds of tattoos to laser them off once and for all - something which unsurprisingly turns out to be quite the lengthy process.

Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers last week (6 February), Davidson explained that he'll have to wait nearly a decade before all his tats are well and truly removed.

"When I'm 40, it'll all be gone," he shared. "Like the chest and back."

The King of Staten Island actor added: "If it's black and white, it's a little easier.

"But if it's a colour tattoo, it takes forever."

Davidson also revealed there's not actually one singular tattoo he regrets the most, bluntly explaining he regrets 'all of them'.

"I made a lot of those decisions before rehab, so I have the dumbest tattoos," he continued. "I got a collection of cartoons smoking blunts like a muppet smoking a blunt, the Tootsie Pop owl smoking a blunt."

Last month on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Davidson offered fans an insight into the 'horrible' process of tattoo removal - a description not for the faint-hearted.

"They gotta burn off a layer of your skin and then it has to heal for, like, six to eight weeks and you can't get in the sunlight," he explained.

"Then you gotta do it, like, 12 more times."

Davidson has already started debuting his tattoo-free look as he's front and centre in Reformation‘s latest campaign.

He previously revealed the sad reason why he's decided to step away from his celebrity status.

Speaking in a December interview with W Magazine, Davidson shared: "I don’t know if you’ve noticed it, but I’ve been laying low."

He went on to admit the interviewer was '100 percent correct' when they asked if he was feeling 'oversaturated'.

"You’re 100 percent correct, because I was oversaturated," the comedian revealed. "In The Sopranos, there’s this line from Tony that’s like, 'You ever feel like you got into something at the end? When the good times were over?' That’s how I feel about show business and being a celebrity. It’s over."

Explaining what it was like blowing up in the biz all of a sudden, Davidson reflected: "When you’re first coming up, and getting all these offers, it’s hard to say no, because you’re hungry.

"I made the mistake of doing literally everything."

However, now that he's 'older and wiser', Davidson says he's finally realising that 'less is more'.

Making another reference, he explained: "Like Christian Bale. He does one movie every two, three years, but you go f*cking see it. Leo[nardo DiCaprio] does one movie every four years, but it’s the biggest thing in the world.

"It’s because you miss them. People have to miss you."

Continuing to reflect on becoming one of the most well-known faces seemingly overnight, Davidson recalled: "Luckily, I got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel. It was a long time coming, and I needed it. I’m very happy where I am right now, mentally."
