Roman Kemp confirms he’s leaving Capital FM after ten years

He made the shock announcement on his radio show today

Roman Kemp has announced his departure from Capital FM after 10 years with the station.

He broke the news to fans during today's (19 February) Capital Breakfast Show.

Speaking to co-hosts Sian Welby and Chris Stark this morning, he said: "I've got quite a big announcement and it's one that's really weird to say out loud.

"This is going to be my last six weeks on Capital, which is a weird thing to say. This is the oddest moment I've had on the show.

"What I'd like to do over the next few weeks, I don't want sad stuff. What I want is to get to know as many of you as possible. If you've never texted into this show, I want to hear from you."

Roman, 31, first joined the station in 2014 before going on to host his Capital Breakfast Show in 2017.

Ashley Tabor-King CBE, Founder & Executive President of Global, said: “Roman, it’s been a pleasure. You’ve been a fantastic host and custodian of one of the biggest shows in UK radio, the Capital breakfast show. I’ve loved watching you grow and grow as a broadcaster and as a person and I wish you all the very best for whatever comes next.”
