US chart-topper Sabrina Carpenter has found herself in hot water this week with a batch of disgruntled parents.
The singer has been accused of being 'too sexual' during her concert performances for her ongoing Short n' Sweet tour, with many mums and dads claiming they wouldn't have taken their kids to the in-person gigs if they'd known how explicit the entertainment would be.

Now, 2024 has been the year for female musicians.
And nothing is stronger proof of that than an all-girl line-up having recently been nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards - amongst those up for the prestigious accolade is Sabrina Carpenter.
As well as being in the running to take home a further five awards next year, she has hit headlines ceaselessly over the last 12 months for countless other reasons.
Examples being the fact that every hit single of hers has sky-rocketed to the top of the global charts, she supported Taylor Swift for the European leg of her Eras tour, she and BAFTA-winning actor Barry Keoghan went public with their romance, several of her iconic music videos became viral online, and in just nine days, the 25-year-old sold out her entire Short n' Sweet arena tour.

That's a pretty impressive CV, if you ask me...
Sadly, however, the 'Espresso' singer - who first shot to fame as a Disney Channel child star - has recently experienced one of the tragic downsides that come with global success.
That being the backlash she has received from parents of some of her younger fans, who have taken aim at her supposedly 'over-sexualised' content.

Now, any listener of the musician's much-loved bangers will know by now Sabrina is no stranger to talk about getting hot and heavy in her lyrics.
But what exactly is wrong with that? Especially considering the likes of Trey Songz, Chris Brown, Eminem, Drake and countless other male artists have been singing about sex for decades.
Apparently, however, one aspect of her live shows that was recently added to her routine has sparked particular controversy from mums and dads, as it appears to show the singer getting into some sexual positions with a male counterpart whilst hidden behind a curtain during 'Bed Chem'.

And being that their X-rated movements can be seen via shadow for audience members, some disgruntled parents have taken to social media to hit out at the star for her choice of in-show entertainment.
"I CANNOT be the only person that finds her doing this in front of a audience full of children inappropriate," one lashed out online.
Another added: "i am OUTRAGED my 7 year old sister attended this concert and was exposed to these vile acts this is downright dirty behavior."
"Righttt like it’s actually disgusting, she has such a young fan base and to traumatize them like that is so sad :(((" a third continued.

Thankfully, however, many fans of Sabrina have jumped to the hit-maker's defence, arguing that she never claimed to be an artist whose content was directed at younger audiences.
"It’s the parents’ fault?? Her music was never child friendly to begin with" one wrote online.
Another added: "If you listen to her lyrics I’d place the blame solely on the parents taking their children to her concerts. She doesn’t need to modify her performance to cater to children when her music was never for them."
"if a parent heard her sing 'i’m so f**king horny' on this album and decided to take a young child… that’s concerning on their part," a third noted.
Tyla has contacted Sabrina's representatives for comment.
