Sabrina Carpenter has set the record straight on whether or not she asked Taylor Swift ‘permission’ to collaborate with Kim Kardashian.
25-year-old Carpenter has had a busy year: opening 34-year-old Swift’s 'Eras Tour'; topping the charts with snappy singles ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please Please Please’ and starring in a campaign for Skims.
Despite playing for fans in Latin America, Australia and Singapore, the musician saw some Swifties turning on her after she worked with Skims founder Kardashian, 43.
Some fans saw the major career move as an act of betrayal, given Swift’s reported rocky relationship with the mother-of-four.

However, Carpenter maintained that she had been ‘very communicative’ with Swift regarding the partnership with Kardashian and that there was ‘no weirdness’.
“But I know people will just say things because that’s all they have time to do,” she said in an interview with Rolling Stone.
The ‘Nonsense’ singer has since doubled down on her stance while claiming she didn’t seek out Swift’s permission to model for Skims.
Speaking to Variety, the Girl Meets World actor said: “Well, Taylor is a rock star!

“She’s just such a gangster with all of it. No matter what people are saying, everything that I’ve ever seen her tackle, she’s done so with grace.”
She continued: “The posts about me having to ‘ask for her permission’ — no. She’s one of my best, best friends, and we grab dinner or text and catch up like you would with your best friend.”
Carpenter, who opened for 26 of Swift’s recent tour dates, made headlines earlier this summer after putting tickets on sale for her 'Short n' Sweet' tour.

The hitmaker’s fifth run of live shows kicks off in Columbus this September and is due to hit the shores of the UK and Europe in March 2025.
The 'Short n' Sweet' tour will touch down in Dublin (March 3) before heading to Birmingham (March 6) and The O2 Arena (March 8)
From London, Carpenter will travel up to Glasgow (March 11) before ending her UK run with a two-night treat at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester (March 13 and 14).
However, some fans complained about the ‘criminal’ price-tag attached to the concert with some tickets reportedly totalling almost £240.

"Sorry but why are Sabrina Carpenter tickets costing £230 for nosebleeds, it’s a crime," commented one disgruntled fan.
A second wrote: "I'm so sad because I've been a Sabrina Carpenter fan since 2016-2017 and I don't have tickets because they are so f**king expensive I will cry don't touch me.”
“These pop stars are getting cheeky because how is Sabrina Carpenter playing arenas with tickets upward of £100,” typed someone else.

However, it seems not everyone was upset with the ticket prices as the upcoming Short n' Sweet tour is sold out.
