Sarah Michelle Gellar fans can't get over her appearance after seeing a new photo with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star took to Instagram yesterday (1 January) to share a sweet photodump with her hubby, who she married back in 2002, and how they celebrated bringing on 2025 together.

Gellar, 47, shared a couple selfies with Prinze Jr, 48, a firework of some lovely NYE fireworks, a few outfit snaps, a smiley group photo and some underwater footage of ocean critters.

She captioned the adorable photo dump: "The most magical end of 24 and the greatest way to enter 25 #happynewyear."

Fans couldn't wait to rush in and share their praise for just how good Gellar looked with one writing: "You look 25."

"Are you ageing in reverse?" wondered a second while a third agreed: "I thought the same thing!"

"Reverse aging. Babes," gushed a fourth, as a fifth echoed: "I think you are aging in reverse lady!"

And a final Instagram user added: "You don't age still as beautiful as ever."

Now, as we know, ageing is a privilege - not a predicament.

In fact, despite societal expectation which is disproportionally pitted against women especially those in the spotlight, ageing is something to be embraced, not feared.

Regardless, it won't hurt to look after the skin you're in and be sure to give your body the food, nutrients and all-round looking after it needs.

Gellar previously opened up about comparing what she looks like now to herself back in her 20s but explained how she worked to reframe that narrative.

"It can be hard when you’ve been in the public eye for a long time, but I think that I’m the worst at comparing myself to what I used to look like," she said in a cover story for New Beauty.

"I’m harder on myself than the public is. I can’t expect to look like I did when I was 20, because that’s just ridiculous and unrealistic. That wouldn’t look right!"

During the pandemic, Gellar realised that she wasn’t giving herself the best self-care, so she made an active effort to change that.

"I keep telling my husband that I feel like I’ve aged so much in those three years of having the kids home and homeschooling and all that,” she remarked.

"He keeps saying, 'You didn’t age anymore in those three years than any other three years'. But it sure feels like I did!"
