Sarah Michelle Gellar has created huge speculation on social media over her latest photo tease.
The 47-year-old actor, who rose to fame starring in a number of film and TV favourites, including Scooby-Doo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cruel Intentions, and Scream 2, took to Instagram yesterday (27 November) to share a snap which has sent fans into quite the spiral.
Last year, some of the stars of Buffy the Vampire Slayer made their return to the series - albeit in audiobook form - however, Sarah didn't return to reprise her role as Buffy Summers.

But it's not the only franchise of hers that is seeing an upcoming reboot.
Sarah, who's married to her Scooby-Doo co-star, Freddie Prinze Jr., posted a pic of a chair on set with the I Know What You Did Last Summer branding, which will be directed by her close friend, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
She played the role of beauty queen Helen Shivers in the 1997 cult classic slasher film, which Freddie also starred on.

However, the character was murdered at the end of the first film.
And now, her latest Insta post has people thinking we could be seeing her character resurrected from the dead in the upcoming flick.
"Scooby Doo 3 coming soon…. @realfreddieprinze @jennkaytin," she jokingly captioned the post along with a laughing emoji.
The Grudge star also shared the photo to her story, writing: "Visiting my man @realfreddieprinze and my girl @jennkaytin."

Adding fuel to the fire, Jennifer then reposted Sarah's story adding: "Before you dm me she refuses to be not dead.”
And fans rushed to the comments to share their excitement over the possibility of Sarah starring in the new instalment of I Know What You Did Last Summer.
"WE NEED HELEN'S GHOST HAHA," quipped one fan, while a second wrote: "Justice for Helen!"
"Team Helen (even if she’s dead)" piped up another.

A fourth added: "THE RESURRECTION OF HELEN SHIVERS!"
Alongside the sea of Helen-related hype, many other fans also shared their hopes of a possible Scooby-Doo 3 due to Sarah's tongue-in-cheek caption.
The first movie, titled just Scooby-Doo, hit our screens back in 2002 while the sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, came out just two years later in 2004.

And it's clear that 20 years on, fans of the franchise are still holding out their hope that a third movie could be on the way.
"Don't tease us like that! I really want a third one," exclaimed one Instagram user, as a second echoed: "We would love a Scooby Doo 3 Sarah lol."
"DON’T TEASE ME WITH SCOOBY!!!!!" exclaimed a third, while a fourth chimed in: "Don’t play with me rn…"
A fifth gushed: "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG it’s happening!!!!!!"
And as for Sarah's possible appearance in I Know What You Did Last Summer?
Well, the actor confirmed she would actually not be returning as the scream queen but was on set for a 'special' role, telling PEOPLE: "My best friend [Jennifer] is directing it, so we joke that I have an unofficial job, which is I am continuity.
"So I’m always the one telling her, 'Well, that would happen, or that wouldn’t happen with those characters', so I do have kind of an unofficial job title."
