When it comes to the prospect of becoming 'Mrs Blanco', Selena Gomez apparently has some reservations.
Just two days after announcing her engagement to her musician beau - following 18 months of dating - a series of remarks that the singer/actress once made about ever changing her official title are once again doing the rounds online.

The happy couple broke the happy news on Wednesday night, with 32-year-old Only Murders In The Building actress Selena sharing a sweet series of snaps from Benny's proposal on Instagram.
They'd been dating publicly for just over a year and a half at the time - though Benny, 36, last month revealed they'd actually been friends for some time, but had only taken their relationship further when Selena suggested they go on a date in June 2023.
One picture from the tear-jerking carousel showed the uber-thoughtful Taco Bell picnic in the park set-up that the record producer had set up - an ode to his fiancé's favourite food - while two others saw Selena showing off her jaw-dropping new marquise diamond ring.
"Forever begins now..." the 'Who Says' singer captioned the snap.

Benny then penned in the comments: "Hey wait… that’s my wife."
Many fans might be expecting Selena to change her surname following the upcoming wedding, from 'Gomez' to 'Levin' - being that Benny was actually born Benjamin Joseph Levin, and that 'Blanco' is just part of his stage name.
In turns out, however, that she previously made her feelings known about the long-standing tradition, and she's actually against it.

Speaking to Vanity Fair back in September, she firstly insisted that neither she nor her family were pressuring Benny to pop the all-important question, claiming 'there's no rules' about proposal plans in the Gomez family.
With that in mind, she added that both she and her man plan to remain true to their own identities, even after getting married.
"I want him to always be himself," she revealed. "I always want to be myself."
The former child star - who first found fame after appearing on Barney & Friends as a toddler - went on to explain that, having single-handedly created a name for herself, she doesn't want to sacrifice the name that she's commonly known by.

"I’m not changing my name no matter what,” she told the publication. "I am Selena Gomez. That’s it."
And by the sounds of it, 'Selenators' are in full support of the move.
"SHE BETTER!! We dont want no Selena Levin omg..." one wrote on X this week.

Another gushed: "Well It's the #WomenMovement that's why. I wouldn't change my stage name either. That's only if I had an alter ego like Hannah Montana. But personal life yes. But I don't blame Selena for this move at all."
"Queen doesn’t need another last name MOTHER," a third went on.
A fourth praised: "GREAT CHOICE. THANK GOD."
"As she should bc she’s THEE Selena Gomez," another continued.
Elsewhere in the interview, Selena - who previously enjoyed romances with former flames Justin Bieber and The Weeknd - insisted she'd 'never been loved' in a way that compared to how Benny does.
"He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life," she said. "He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything."
