A US reality star has this week landed herself in hot water after throwing herself her very own funeral celebration.
While many people decide to make decisions about their own funeral to spare their family stress, a woman on TLC series sMothered had a slightly different idea.
Many thought she'd taken things one step too far.
Kathy Crispino appears in the usually rib-tickling reality series alongside her daughter Cristina.

Having recently been diagnosed with diabetes, Kathy regular opens up about her health battles on the hit show.
Speaking to Cristina, she could previously be seen explaining: "I have to watch what I eat, I’m not drinking."
Bursting into tears, her daughter asked on the show: "Are you going to have a stroke and die?!"
"I hope not, well I wasn’t taking it that far," Kathy replied.

But after her health woes had begun weighing on her mind, the American TV star came up with an extremely morbid idea that she hoped would lift her - and her family's - mood.
After initially believing something may have been 'seriously wrong' with her mother' - and suspecting she may be 'giving up' - Cristina surprisingly more than happy to abide by her mother's bizarre wishes.
Together, the two began planning Kathy a funeral-themed party for her 65th birthday - taking place at an actual funeral home - which aired on TV and left viewers baffled.

On the show, Kathy could be seen decorating her own coffin, attaching a pair of mannequin legs to it and telling fans: "My legs are my best feature, so I wanted them hanging out of my casket."
The party also included a cake which read 'Rest in Peace'.
Arguably even more astonishing, is that Cristina later went on to read a eulogy in dedication to her mother, who was seen sitting on the front row.

"Those of you who knew my mom knew nothing about her life was normal," the daughter read.
"From the time I can remember, my mom always celebrated events with large, over-the-top parties. In my eyes, she was the DaVinci of party planning."
Cristina's speech was then interrupted by Kathy's other daughter, Carly, who yelled out telling her to 'stop crying', adding she was embarrassed by the fiasco.
Despite the judgement from her sister, Cristina later admitted in a one-to-one confessional that the eulogy was just as much dedicated to her late father as her mother, as she hadn't had the chance to tell him how she felt before he passed.

By the looks of viewers' mixed reactions, however, many believe actually carrying out a fake funeral was a step too far, even despite the health diagnosis.
One blasted the on-screen family: "My dad recently passed away. To have such a party or whatever you’re calling it is so disrespectful. I’m sorry.
"I wouldn’t I wouldn’t wish doing an eulogy for someone you love EVER. So until the actual day does come, have a regular birthday with cake and loved ones."
Another penned on social media: "This 'party' was so inappropriate! And the location even more so!"
Others, however, thought the idea of Cristina's eulogy was sweet.
"These two fruit loops are so heartwarming," one viewer wrote, whilst another added: "It was so bizarrely funny. Kooky people in the funniest way".
