"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."
More recently, the Game of Thrones star has addressed her split from the musician - with whom she shares her two daughters, Willa and Delphine, aged four and two.
Despite touching on the split, Sophie has been unable to share specific details about their divorce.

When asked about the ongoing in an interview for Harper's Bazaar, Sophie said: "I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much, but it was incredibly sad. We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard."
The mum-of-two also spoke openly about feeling homesick before moving back to the UK.
"I’m so happy to be back," she opened up about her move, revealing she has since made a home for her and her two children in West London.
"It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family."

She continued: "I was away for so long – six years – and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant.
"I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, 'I never got to touch your belly'.
"We didn’t have those key experiences with each other."

Turner spent the majority of the last decade in the States, living firstly in Miami with Jonas before the duo welcomed their two children on the East Coast, and then ultimately deciding on Miami as the perfect place to raise their two daughters.
Sophie will star in a thriller called Trust, which tells the tale of a major figure who experiences a very public scandal before finding refuge in an Airbnb.
"That one really mirrored my life from this past year, and it was a very cathartic experience for me,” Sophie shared about the role. “It was a chance to let out some serious anger, which was fun. So that felt right for me to do."
