Travis Kelce admitted his ‘unacceptable’ behaviour went ‘too far’ at last Super Bowl

Travis Kelce admitted his ‘unacceptable’ behaviour went ‘too far’ at last Super Bowl

The NFL star previously opened up about the heated exchange between himself and coach Andy Reid

We're all very excited to see what will go down during this year's Super Bowl on Sunday (9 February) which will see the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs as the two teams battle it out for the victory.

If we're judging this year's sporting event by the ones from previous years, it will, no doubt, be full of a whole bunch of match-side drama.

One example of this fired-up behaviour from last year involves none other than Chiefs' tight end, Travis Kelce, who previously admitted that his 'unacceptable' behaviour went 'too far' at the last Super Bowl.

Travis, who didn't attend the Grammys alongside his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, on Sunday (2 February), had somewhat of a sideline outburst at his coach, Andy Reid, as he shouted in his face as well as seemingly bumped into him, causing him to stumble.

Kelce was seemingly unhappy that he'd been taken out of the game when his teammate fumbled the play in the first quarter against the San Francisco 49ers.

The incident was addressed last year in an episode of New Heights Travis' podcast he shares with his older brother, former Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason Kelce.

Speaking about the ordeal, Travis said at the time: "I can't get that fired up to the point where bumping coach and it's getting him off balance and stuff.

"It came in a moment when we weren't playing very well and I wasn't playing very well. It's definitely unacceptable and I immediately wished I could have taken it back. Coach Reid actually came right up to me after that and didn't even have harsh words for me."

He added: "People are all over this, and I mean, I get it."

"You crossed a line," Jason declared, before adding: "I think we can both agree on that.”

“I can’t get to the point where I’m that fired up that I’m bumping coach and it’s getting him off balance and stuff. When he stumbled, I was like, 'Oh [expletive]', in my head," Travis added.

Jason then continued: "Or even, let’s be honest, the yelling in his face, too. I think there’s better ways to handle this retrospectively."

"Yeah. I know," Travis admitted. He continued to explain: "I’m a passionate guy. I love Coach Reid. Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him, how much I love to be a product of his coaching career."

He then assured fans that both he and Reid discussed the incident and 'chuckled' about it.

Speaking of 'unacceptable', Swifties have come out in full force over one seriously vulgar Taylor Swift shirt which has now gone viral ahead of the Super Bowl this weekend (9 February).

A post on social media made by sports writer, Dov Kleiman, has gone viral after claiming Eagles fans 'made shirts to give out cursing out Swift for the Super Bowl'.

The shirt in question has the words 'F**K TAYLOR SWIFT' plastered across it with the Eagles mascot covering up the 'U', 'Y' and 'W' in a diagonal line.

"There's no place for this in sports," Kleiman added.
