American singer SZA has branded her decision to have a major procedure as ‘stupid’ and not ‘super necessary’.
The 35-year-old - whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe - has been a dominant force in the music industry since breaking through with her 2017 debut, Ctrl.
Lauded as a critical and commercial success, Ctrl paved the way for SZA’s sophomore masterpiece SOS, which won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Months on from her Glastonbury headline set and her celebrated BST Hyde Park performance, the Missouri native has opened up about her career and life aspirations in a new interview with British Vogue.
During the candid chat, she admitted headlining Worthy Farm this summer had been a ‘tall order’ that left her ‘scared and freaked out’.
“I just felt like nothing I could do would be enough for Glastonbury, no matter what I did,” she confessed.

As well as claiming she is probably ‘not meant to be famous’, SZA revealed her thoughts on having a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
BBL surgery sees a doctor utilising liposuction to transfer fat from other body parts, like your belly or lower back, into your buttocks.
Web MD writes that the two-step procedure is semi-permanent and that results can last for years if you successfully manage to maintain your weight.
SZA told the publication that she sought out the surgery after initially experiencing rapid muscle growth in the gym.

Despite sticking to her workout plan, she believed her butt was slow to grow, so took matters into her own hands.
After the procedure, she claimed to have gained weight ‘from being immobile’.
“It was just so stupid,” she admitted. “But who gives a f**k? You got a BBL, you realise you didn’t need the s**t.
“It doesn’t matter. I’ll do a whole bunch more s**t just like it if I want to before I’m f**kng dead because this body is temporary.

“It just wasn’t super necessary - I have other shit that I need to work on about myself… I need to get my f**kng mental health together.
“Not to say you can’t do those things simultaneously, just, for me, I realise wherever you go, there you’ll be.”
Despite her regret, the 'Snooze' singer confirmed that she believes her ‘booty [looks] nice’ and that she was grateful that the BBL procedure appears ‘natural’.

“But I don’t even care. It’s something that I wanted. I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it,” she added.
SZA’s confession comes months after she discussed having her breast implants removed.
Appearing on the SHE MD podcast, the R&B hitmaker said: “When I got my boobs done, my doctor took out some of my fibrosis, but there was so much fibrosis, it was crazy.
“And he took it out. And so, when I went back (for the biopsy), a lot of the concerns were gone.
“I have markers in my breast, like metal markers in my breast for all these fibrosis, for these lumps or whatever. I'm not supposed to be getting breast implants.”
SZA continued to say that the metal markers ended up ‘hurting’ her, which led to her decision to have them removed.
