Travis Kelce's mum makes sad admission about why Taylor Swift won't be attending family Thanksgiving meal

Taylor Swift won't be spending thanksgiving with her boyfriend and his family

Travis Kelce's mum has revealed why Taylor Swift won't be spending Thanksgiving with their family this year.

Deciding where to spend Christmas and New Year is always a big point of contention within families, and it seems like it's no different for celebrities celebrating the holidays.

Thanksgiving is a huge celebration in America on November 28, but according to Travis' mum Donna Kelce, Taylor won't be eating her dinner with them.

The 72-year-old gave insight as to where the singer would be on the occasion, during an appearance on the Today show.

Taylor is currently preparing for the final leg of her Eras tour, which has been world-wide success - ending on 8 December in Vancouver.

And it's this commitment that's keeping her from the Kelces during the holiday period.

Asked whether the superstar would be joining them, Donna said: "I don't think so. She's kind of busy right now. She still has her tour to do."

But according to the mum-of-two, Thanksgiving will be centred around her son's football schedule anyway, as Travis is currently in the middle of an NFL season for the Kansas City chiefs.

She said: "I am going to be at a football game.

"Travis is playing the day after Thanksgiving."

Her 37-year-old son Jason Kelce is a former Philadelphia Eagles centre, so is used to 'football always being the holidays' in their family.

She noted that her family haven't actually planned a formal dinner like millions of others across America.

Travis recently made Chiefs history after tying Tony Gonzalez for the most touchdowns during a game, which Taylor was present at.

Speaking to Times magazine about their relationship being so public, she said: "When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care."

She added: "The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone."

The singer was pictured walking in the Arrowhead stadium with concerns photographers would attempt to 'up-skirt' her.

Taylor's security team were quick to protect the star, shouting 'stand up' to the paparazzi knelt on the floor with their cameras angled up.

On the same day she was watching Travis' game, Swift took home four EMAs for Best Video with 'Fortnight' (feat. Post Malone), Best Artist, Best Live and Best US Act.
