Woman who accused Hailey Bieber of ‘liking’ Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco video speaks out as star is forced to issue statement

TikToker Courtney Presto has issued a follow-up statement on the matter

The woman who accused Hailey Bieber of 'liking' a Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco video has spoken out after Bieber addressed the drama.

The video in question, posted by a woman who goes by @courtneypresto online, features a compilation of snaps of the couple from their Interview Magazine cover shoot with Courtney saying: "I genuinely can't decide which is the worst.

"I had to look at these photos so you do too."

The clip ended up going viral after racking up millions of views with a follow-up video from the TikToker later accusing Bieber 'herself' of liking the video with an alleged screenshot of the notification.

"Hailey Bieber herself liked my TikTok," she claimed.

"I was being a little shady to Selena Gomez," Courtney admitted. "However, that means that the Selena Gomez [and] Justin Bieber beef is alive and well people."

She declared: "Hailey probably f*cking hates Selena!"

"I feel like this is definitive proof," the TikToker concluded, "that when Hailey Bieber is like 'Oh, it's all love, it's all good, we have absolutely no beef, everything is completely fine' - she's lying."

Since then, a representative for the Rhode founder has spoken out against the 'tired narrative'.

"This never happened," the rep told E! News in a statement over the weekend (9 March). "This entire story has been fabricated by a content creator looking to capitalise off of an old, tired narrative."

And now, Courtney has taken to TikTok over the weekend to issue a statement on the matter.

Explaining she posted the original on Valentine's Day (14 February), she shared the importance of 'comments' when it comes to 'growing an account' on the social media platform.

"Comments themselves are important, but what I like to see is threads. So when someone comments and then multiple people respond to that first comment, then I know it's going to be picked up in the algorithm," she continued before adding that, two days after posting the clip (16 February), it had received around 77,000 views.

It currently has over 2.2 million views.

Courtney carried on: "That was my most viral video. So I was stoked. And then I got a push notification. Hailey Bieber liked my TikTok, which I obviously thought was fake or a stan account."

She explained that it was this moment that she opened the app and took a screenshot, adding: "Obviously that's the coolest thing that's ever happened to me."

Revealing why she made the video, Courtney continued: "So I showed everyone I've ever met and talked about it to everybody.

"But of course, since I'm talking about it to everyone, my friend, who also has a drama channel, was like, 'Listen, if you don't cover this, I will'. And so that's the story about Hailey Bieber liking my TikTok."

According to Courtney, her 'main takeaway' from the situation is that: "Hailey Bieber hates Selena Gomez so much that her 'for you' page discovery algorithm is trained so well to get hate videos about Selena early in the discovery algorithm because she liked mine when it was at 77k views."
