The mini-series, which recently dropped on Netflix, tells the story of Charles Crocker (played by Jeff Daniels), a real estate tycoon who faces sudden bankruptcy.

A Man In Full is based on the novel of the same name, but the show has a rather different ending to the book version.

In the show, Charlie walks in on his wife, Martha, having sex with a man named Raymond Peepgrass, played by actor, Tom Pelphrey.

She runs out of the room, leaving Raymond exposing his erect penis, having just taken viagra.

Naturally, Charlie is absolutely raging, and as he chokes Raymond, he begins having a heart attack himself.

Because of this, he's unable to let go of Raymond's neck and both men die.

In the novel, there's a much happier ending, with Raymond and Martha ending up together.

The scene has been hugely controversial, with many viewers horrified over the erect penis scene.

Mary Killen, columnist at the Spectator, wrote: "I don't want to see graphic sexual images when I'm watching a drama. There is too much already and it is reducing us to no better than barnyard animals.

"Viewers shouldn't be forced to see pornography. This trend will end in tears as it's depressing, unmysterious and taking away some of life's magic."

Meanwhile, Politician Alexander Stafford added: "If Netflix is serving up this sort of low-grade, pornographic rubbish, we need to give Ofcom full oversight of the streaming giant's output as soon as possible."

Pelphrey himself has recent spoken out about the scene and explained that he almost had second thoughts about it.

Speaking about his partner Kaley Cuoco and their baby daughter Matilda, Pelphrey explained: “All my wheels were turning because at that time, Kaley was pregnant.

"I knew I was going to be a dad and all of a sudden, I just started thinking about everything different, like, ‘Oh, God, do I want to have my clothes off on camera?’

"All things that literally have never crossed my mind, truly. I’m always like, ‘That makes sense, let’s do it!’

"All of a sudden I’m like, ‘I’m gonna have a kid, I don’t know if I want her to see this!'” In the end, it made a lot of sense.

"We were lucky, because we had an actor who was directing who’s been in a million vulnerable positions herself and understands how to manage and take care of that moment.”

You can watch A Man in Full on Netflix now.
