Tyson Fury has issued a statement confirming his retirement from boxing following his clash with Oleksandr Usyk.
Tyson took to Instagram earlier this afternoon (13 January) to share a statement on the matter, saying: "Hi everybody, I'm going to make this short and sweet. I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing. It's been a blast, I've loved every single minute of it.
"I'm going to end with this. Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, see you on the other side. GET UP!"

He captioned the clip: "Thanks its been a blast. Thanks to everyone who helped out along the way! Happy new year. Jesus is king now & forever."
A few months back, the former boxing champion opened up about how he was preparing for his world title fight against Ukrainian boxer, Oleksandr Usyk.
"It's been a long camp. Been away from my wife and kids for three months," he told presenter Dev Sahni on Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions YouTube channel.

Tyson went on to reveal just how long it's been since he chatted to his missus, saying : "I've not spoken to Paris at all for three months, not one word. Yeah, I've sacrificed a lot.
"It will be worth it, 100 percent."
Following his statements, 35-year-old mum-of-seven, Paris, who has been married to her husband for 16 years now, addressed his comments publicly on social media.

Taking to Instagram, she explained to fans: "People don't see the sacrifices made."
She continued: "I've let him solely concentrate on this fight. It seems like he's been gone forever, especially with no contact. But if it's what he needs."
Fans were clearly concerned by the news, prompting Tyson's promoter, Frank Warren, to explain the real reason behind why the couple hadn't talked in a quarter of a year.
Insisting the 'Gypsy King' was 'absolutely focused' on his rematch with Usyk, Frank revealed he 'cut back on everything' in the run-up.

Speaking to iFL TV, he shared: "Tyson's cut back on everything for this. He's cut back on the amount of people in his team. He's not speaking to people, he's not taking phone calls from family.
"He's absolutely focused on this fight that's all he's interested in. He doesn't want to know about any problems outside business unless they are massively important family issues you know that's where he's at."
At the fight, which Tyson subsequently lost, iFL TV asked Paris if her husband's claims of cutting himself off from the family were true.

She replied: "Yes, it's true.
"I think after the last fight, everything that went on previously, personally in our lives and then Tyson obviously had the outcome last time, I just think he decided this on his own. And I had to support him in it.
"He didn't want to be involved in family life so he's cut himself off from us for the last few months. He's put himself in a serious, serious condition and he looks very, very determined."
Paris continued: "So if it's what needed to be, then God willing tomorrow night it will all come out and it will all be good and all worthwhile.
"It's been very difficult, I can't lie. I supported him in the decision but it wasn't the greatest thing to sit and not speak to your husband for a long time.
"But I'm looking at him - it was the first time I saw him [at the weigh-in], we still haven't spoke. I can see I think, in my heart, it has paid off. The dedication that he's got there, and the concentration, and I can see it in his eyes, that nothing else matters apart from this fight tomorrow night."
