Many people are wondering what exactly Mounjaro is after Queen singer Adam Lambert spoke out about using the drug to lose weight.
The 42-year-old American Idol star has shedded almost 60lbs during his weight loss journey and has previously confirmed he switched drugs from Ozempic to Mounjaro prior to his transformation.
Speaking in an Instagram live, Lambert told fans: "I'm dropping some tea on you guys right now. I've been on Mounjaro for the last I think, what, eight months?"

Hitting back at critics, Adam said: "I feel amazing. I still eat, but I eat lighter, and I eat less, and I know that there's a lot of chatter about 'Oh, you're taking it away from diabetes patients'.
"I mean, quite frankly, that's the pharmaceutical industry's issue, not mine. They need to keep up with production."

How do Mounjaro and Ozempic compare?
Ozempic is used to treat type 2 diabetes - it is not a legitimate weight-loss management drug and is not FDA approved for this use.

The medication works by enhancing insulin secretion but lowers glucagon secretion to lower a person’s blood sugar levels without risking hypoglycaemia, a dangerous condition which can cause seizures.
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, which is a little different from Ozempic as it's a medication which has been recently approved for weight loss management as well as diabetes as it helps lower blood sugar levels.
It was formerly only approved to be used to treat type 2 diabetes like Ozempic, but unlike the popular jab, this one is actually approved to aid weight loss.
What is the key difference between Mounjaro and Ozempic?
A key difference between Mounjaro and Ozempic is that Mounjaro targets both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, instead of just the GLP-1 receptor, which are two appetite-regulating hormones.

So, it’s basically a dual action drug which also improves blood sugar control and supports weight loss.
