Actress Whoopi Goldberg is seemingly satisfied with staying single after admitting she’s not keen on ‘sharing’ with a significant other.
68-year-old Whoopi—whose real name is Caryn Elaine Johnson—has been married three times, first to English drug counsellor Alvin Martin (1973 to 1979) before saying ‘I do’ to David Claessen in 1986.
Two years after saying their vows, the Sister Act favourite and the Dutch cinematographer split. She later tied the knot with Lyle Trachtenberg for a year in 1994.

Despite her trio of marriages, Whoopi told Piers Morgan in a 2011 interview that she felt she lacked the ‘commitment’ that came with the territory of being someone’s wife.
Thirteen years later, it appears the Ghost alumna is still happy being single.
Appearing on ABC’s much-loved talk show, The View, Whoopi admitted she’d been gaining candid relationship advice from a recently published non-fiction tome.
"A married couple of psychologists who wrote the book 'Fight Right: How Successful Couples Turn Conflict into Connection', they say it's okay to go to bed angry,” she explained.

"Because it gives you time to take a breath and think things over and understand someone better.”
After making the proclamation, Whoopi laughed, causing one of the show’s other panellists to question: “That tickles you?"
"That just tickles me, you know? That's why I go to bed alone,” she replied. "I don't have to worry about it, I don't care who's mad!"

Although Whoopi didn’t exactly confirm the status of her relationship, it was clear that the comedian was doing just fine on her own.
In 2018, the New York City native admitted she wasn’t a ‘big believer in weddings and marriage’ but claimed there was something special about witnessing a royal wedding.
"But there’s something wonderful about seeing a couple in love and they’re in a carriage," she said of Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank's nuptials at the time.

"There's something wonderful about that and the [royal] tradition,” she continued.
"We don't really have those kind of things, but for us across the way there's something great about it. Often if you’ve been married a long time, things change.”
The TV personality added: "The only way I could be married to anyone ever again is if they lived in another country, they could come and visit... I'm not cut out for it.”
As well as her three marriages, Whoopi has embarked on relationships with businessman Michael Visbal, Eddie actor Frank Langella and The Good Place’s Ted Danson.
