Zac Efron has updated fans on his health after being involved in a ‘minor swimming incident’.
Hollywood icon Efron, 36, was hospitalised this past weekend whilst holidaying at a villa in Ibiza.
It’s said that the Iron Claw actor was ‘found inside’ a ‘swimming pool by two people’ who were ‘working at the villa’ he was staying at.

They reportedly proceeded to ‘pull him out of the water’ and he was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Representatives of Efron told TMZ that he’d only been hospitalised as a ‘precautionary measure’ and that he had been released from care a day after the accident (August 3).
New sources have since come forward with the alleged reason Efron was admitted to care.

TMZ alleges that the High School Musical actor dived into the water and hit the bottom of the pool, ‘ingesting a large amount of water into his lungs’ as a result’.
It’s claimed that Efron was ‘momentarily dazed’ and underwent a chest X-ray when admitted to hospital.
The publication further reports that Efron is now ‘recovering just fine’ from the incident—a claim backed up by the star himself.
Taking to social media on Sunday (August 5), the Californian posted an image of himself working out in the sun, lying on a medicine ball and lifting a pair of 20kg dumbells in the air.

“Happy and healthy,” he wrote in overlay text. “Thanks for the well wishes”.
LADbible Group has previously contacted representatives of Zac Efron for further comment.
Over a decade ago Efron was badly injured and was hospitalised after shattering his jaw in a freak accident.

In 2022, he explained to Men’s Health that he’d been ‘running through his house in socks and slipped’ resulting in him hitting his chin on a granite fountain.
The force of the impact knocked him out, and when he woke up, he realised his ‘chin bone was hanging off his face’.
In another interview, Efron claimed that while the incident was ‘funny’ it also ‘sucked’ because he ‘almost died’.

Following the incident Efron was required to undergo physical therapy.
He was forced to put physical therapy on pause while filming his Netflix series Down to Earth with Zac Efron.
As a result, the masseter muscles on each side of his jaw became enlarged as they compensated for more still-recovering muscles.
“The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big,” he explained.
