Ever since acting BFFs Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudges first appeared in High School Musical together back in 2006, fans have been desperate to see the duo reunite for another toe-tapping film franchise.
Despite the fact that they've both respectively shut down rumours of a follow-up instalment of the basketball-throwing, song-belting teen romance hit being added to the roster later down the line, it seems as though the pair have remained great friends.
So much so, that earlier this week, Troy Bolton actor Zac issued a tear-jerking message about his former co-star, who is currently expecting her first child.

News of Vanessa's pregnancy broke earlier this year, when the Gabriella Montez actress rocked up to this year's Oscars, showing off her blossoming baby bump.
The 35-year-old - who is married to NBA star Cole Tucker - has since taken to social media to share several of her pregnancy's biggest milestones.
And in an even more surprising twist of fate, a matter of days later, another HSM star - Sharpay Evans actress Ashley Tisdale - announced she's also adding a second child to her brood around the same time.

Since Vanessa's pregnancy, however, fans haven't been able to help but wonder how her former on-screen love interest Zac, 36, would feel about her settling down and starting a family.
The intrigue comes as the Hollywood pals did actually date in real life for a short time whilst filming their Disney+ movie franchise together, back in 2005.
Despite only being youngsters, the pair were actually in a relationship with one another for five strong years, finally calling it quits in 2010.

Whilst Zac went on to date the likes of fellow actors Lily Collins and Halston Sage, Vanessa dated fellow Disney+ favourite Austin Butler for nine years.
The latter even got engaged before breaking the fans' hearts in 2020 by announcing their separation.
Despite seemingly having found her happy ending with her sportsman hubby, fans have been dying to know what Zac thinks of his ex's happy news.
And - as if we should have expected anything less - the actor expressed his joy for her this week in an adorable statement.

Speaking to press about his co-stars' double pregnancies, he gushed: "Oh, they’re going to be the best moms ever, those girls. Are you kidding me?
"Oh my gosh. Yeah, we’re going to have some fun family reunions coming up.
Aww, ever the gentleman!
