Love Island fans all say the same thing after Ciaran reveals his age to fellow islanders

Love Island fans all say the same thing after Ciaran reveals his age to fellow islanders

Ciaran Davies has caused quite a stir online

The 2024 instalment of Love Island took to our screens earlier this evening after much anticipation, with the dating competition taking place in a villa in Mallorca for another year.

And, of course, the beautiful Maya Jama has been handed the presenting reigns once again.

Minutes into the debut episode, however, viewers picked up on something about the age of one of this year's islanders.

We are, of course, talking about South Wales rugby player Ciaran Davies, who revealed to his fellow islanders that he's only 21-years-old after strutting into the villa, making him the youngest in the group

And the news certainly came as a shock to fellow Welshie, Nicole Samuel, who had to check she'd heard him right.

Viewers at home were left equally as blown away, however.

One took to social media to tweet a startled gift, writing: "CIARAN IS 21 #LoveIsland"

Another went on: "21? And you are ready to settle down?"

While a third added: "why are you on love island at 21… these people didn’t even try"

"21 at love island is just madness go to the club or something", another jibed.

Last week, ITV producers gave a glimpse into this year's cast-mates and it's fair to say that fans were incredibly intrigued to discover that several of the contestants already had celebrity connections.

Recruitment manager, Munveer Jabbal, from Surrey, revealed that he is best pals with Piers Morgan's son Spencer, while Ronnie Vint (a semi-pro footballer from South East London) has been mates with ex-Love Island star Olivia Attwood for some time now - and was her husband Bradley Dack's best man at their wedding.

It doesn't get closer than that, I'd say.

For the next eight weeks, we’ll see the new castmates get to know one another in a bid to find 'the one' and walk away with their share of £50,000.

The last installation of the Love Island franchise, Love Island: All Stars, saw 2020 favourite Molly Smith and 2023 star Tom Clare take home the win - despite the attempts of Tom’s former flame Georgia Steele and Molly’s ex Callum Jones.

And the pair's relationship has been going pretty strong as they've been treating fans to a string of loved-up holiday snaps from all over the globe - and have also recently moved in together.

But if the show's recent celebrity bombshell is anything to go by, we are certainly in for another wild ride with the latest series.
