One part of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance appeared to take aim at President Donald Trump.
It seems the Kendrick vs Drake beef has reached a new height, with the five-time in one night Grammy winner performing his diss track, 'Not Like Us', at the biggest sporting event in the US on Sunday (9 February).
Kendrick's show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans was a resounding success, and it featured many memorable moments such as Samuel L Jackson serving as the personification of the US, AKA 'Uncle Sam' who constantly interrupted the show to tell Kendrick to tone it down, and not to be ‘ghetto’ with his music.

He then finally applauded the rapper for conforming to 'what America wants to see' while performing 'All The Stars' with SZA, a pop song, as opposed to his rap song.
There was also the instance of tennis champion Serena Williams doing the crip walk onstage while the diss track about her reported ex-beau Drake was being blasted for all to hear.
But that’s not the biggest thing eagle-eyed fans noticed.

President Donald Trump was also in the audience and Kendrick included a moment in his performance that many believe was a slight against him.
The singer - who will not be paid for the gig - performed a mashup of 'DNA', 'Squabble Up', 'Humble', and 'Not Like Us'.
But of course, 'Uncle Sam' was there to keep everything in check and seemingly making sure it was all in line with what the US needed to see.
The significance of the moment seems to have been a comment about Trump’s efforts to end diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in America.

One X user wrote: “Samuel l jackson as uncle sam, the personification of america, telling kendrick his performance is ‘too ghetto’ and then it cutting to kendrick’s all-black backup dancers arranged as the american flag all while That Man [Trump] is in attendance? kendrick I was not familiar with your game.”

Another person noticed the same thing too and commented: “Donald Trump is forced to watch Samuel L Jackson, dressed as Uncle Sam, introduce Kendrick Lamar at the super bowl half time show after asking the NFL to not show the ‘End Racism’ In the End Zones is the Headline.”
One TikToker (@andrewpatino) created a video about other hints in the performance, which included the American flag being split in half, Uncle Sam telling the 'scorekeeper' to 'deduct ten points' and then telling Kendrick that he lost a life when he brought his 'homeboys' on stage.
There appeared to be a lot of symbolism during the show, which fans immediately noticed.

Someone wrote in the comments: “Did anybody see what the light said in the audience area at the very end it said game over right but in the middle of his performance it flashed to the audience area and it said warning something.”
Another added: “They had a narrator for the ppl who wouldn’t understand and it’s clear they just don’t WANT to understand.”
Considering Lamar said in his performance, '40 acres and a mule' and that this is 'bigger than music', the references to slavery and reparations that were never repaid was a powerful statement to make at such a huge event.
Whether this was a jab at Trump or the US as a whole is debatable, but it was certainly a fantastic performance.
