Lana Del Rey’s Reading Festival set left many fans ‘disappointed’ after it was cut short, with the star’s microphone turned off as fireworks were set off behind her.
Del Rey was due to headline the festival in spectacular fashion, having planned a firework display for her final song.
After reportedly turning up late to the stage by approximately 15 minutes, she ran through 13 tracks before telling the crowd: "Thank you so much Reading, thank you.

"We are going to sing a couple more songs. As long as we can until they pull us off."
However, her sound was cut off before she was able to do much more, meaning all she could do was enjoy the fireworks in silence with her fans.
Reading later issued a statement apologising to festivalgoers, putting the issue down to a production ‘error’.

“Due to an error by the Reading production team we accidentally cut Lana Del Rey's incredible set short by 5 mins, we apologise unreservedly to Lana and her fans,” the festival said.
Naturally, many people were gutted to miss out on the full experience, with one tweeting: “Disappointing to see Lana's set cut short, but glad she shared the moment with fans during the fireworks.”
Another echoed: “Well, that's one way to end a concert, sitting and watching fireworks with fans!”
But some people weren’t able to focus on the positives, arguing that they deserve to get some money back from their £291 festival ticket price.

“Fans should get a discount,” one wrote on X, with the comment attracting six likes and a retweet - suggesting that others are in agreement.
“This is clearly not enough,” someone else said of Reading Festival’s response.

While another echoed: “That's a bummer. I was really looking forward to her full set.”
However, others speculated that the fault lay with Del Rey, who has been known to have sets cut short after starting them late – including her performance at Glastonbury last year. She also ran over the allotted time at her Coachella set.
“Didn’t she arrive late again?” one asked, while another said: “Uhm wasn’t she 20 minutes late tho?”
As with Glastonbury, there is a curfew at Reading Festival that means main stages have to be all wrapped up by 11.30pm.

There were also reports that the sound from Del Rey’s performance clashed with techno DJ Fred Again - meaning her music seemed to be drowned out.
LADbible Group has contacted Lana Del Rey's representatives and Reading Festival organisers for comment.
