Viewers are still absolutely raving over a Channel 4 black comedy-drama that launched in 2017.

Despite years having passed since the gripping show was on our screens, fans still proclaim their love for it and people who watch it for the first time are instantly hooked.

Netflix clearly saw the appeal as they scooped up the chance to make it available for subscribers to stream.

It received widespread critical acclaim, and went on to win six awards.

The show was called The End of the F***ing World and it ran for two seasons.

Watch the trailer here:

The End of the F***ing World follows the story of 17-year-old James (Alex Lawther) who thinks he could be a psychopath, and Alyssa (Jessica Barden), who has a disruptive home life that she wants to flee from.

Alyssa suggests that the two misfits run away together, seeking adventure and something completely different to what she currently knows.

James agrees, hoping he will get an opportunity to kill her as he's grown weary of killing animals.

The two set off on a trip that takes them all over England.

The two form an unlikely alliance, and what follows is murderous and romantic in equal measure.

Throughout the two series', Gemma Whelan, Wunmi Mosaku, Steve Oram, Christine Bottomley, Navin Chowdhry, Barry Ward and Naomi Ackie also make appearances.

The series is adapted from the mini-comics of the same name by Charles Forsman.

Much to the chagrin of viewers, screenwriter Charlie Covell has declared she doesn't intend to bring us a third series.

It was a huge success upon the premiere.

The series has a near perfect score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Sonya Saraiya noting for Variety: "The End of the F***ing World gets under the viewer's skin with sharp, bloody intensity."

Pilot Viruet added for The Verge: "It's a show that makes viewers care about its screwed-up, unlikable leads, and it depicts teenage misanthropy and being on the cusp of adulthood in a thought-provoking way."

Despite no third season on the cards, viewers have been gifted two perfect series to binge and look back on.

Viewers still rave about it to this day.

One person wrote: "One of the greatest!"

Another said: "End of the F'ing World was an amazingly brutal, funny, and heartfelt look at being a messed-up teenager."

While a third chimed: "I’m re-watching The End of the F***ing World & omfg it’s so so good Alyssa is everything i wished I could’ve been when I was 15."
