The two, who were seemingly happy in the beginning of their relationship, welcomed a daughter in 2006 but arguments and manipulation at the hands of Rosa led to an acrimonious split in 2007.
Rosa would prevent Eric from seeing their child, which led to him suing for custody.
She went so far to falsely allege Eric had been abusing their daughter. Once the lies unfolded, Eric was granted full custody by the courts.
Eric, who was living with his grandmother Sally Hill, could never have foretold what would happen next.

In a horrifying turn of events, Rosa and her mother, Mei Li, hatched a plan to secure custody and broke into Sally's home - tasing her, and eventually strangling her to death.
They then wrapped her body in tarp and left her in a bin in the shed.
When Eric returned home with his little girl, Rosa pulled a gun out on him.
