Made in Chelsea alum, Ashley James, is using her platform as a presenter and broadcaster for all that is good in the world.
A recent appearance on ITV’s This Morning has had viewers singing her praises.
Ashley delivered a masterclass in dispelling blown-up rumours of ‘wokeness gone mad’, and instead drew attention to the real issues.

Sat with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, as well as former Tory MP Gyles Brandreth, Ashley didn’t lose her cool once when getting her point across.
Ashley was tasked with having to break down what ‘woke’ really means.
In the appearance, which took place last month on 28 March, but is going viral again online, they were discussing leader of the Commons Penny Mordaunt banning ‘woke language’.

Gyles then saw his chance to leap in and go on a misguided rant. He said he was told by an ITV producer that hospitals are being told to use the terms ‘chestfeeding’ rather than ‘breastfeeding’.
FYI - the NHS official website states this is to accommodate patients who are transgender or non binary, and it isn’t a blanket term being used.
Ashley quipped: “If you’re dealing with a trans person, use the term chestfeeding as it’s more inclusive. No one’s trying to ban the word breastfeeding.”

Ashley then drew attention to conversations like this adding fuel to the ‘culture wars’ fire. She referenced the inexcusable actions of serving MPs.
“The term woke actually does mean being alert to social injustice. That can only be a good thing.
“Bear in mind, we know that currently parliament has over 50 MPs under investigation for sexual harassment, they would benefit from wokeness.”

Mic drop moment.
But that was far from all. Ashley continued as she took aim at the word ‘snowflake’ being weaponised against people who care about social issues.
She said: “Actually it’s the people who fear wokeness that seem to be the snowflakes because they’re getting offended by words.
“All it is doing is trying is to attempt for society to care about and consider people’s feelings and to attempt for society to be more equal.”

And in the closing sentence to end all debates, Ashley proclaimed: “Wokeness is not the reason we don’t have affordable housing.
“Wokeness is not the reason that public services are crumbling.
“It’s just a nothing story.”

It has since gone viral, with one person saying: “ALLYSHIP IN ACTION.
“Aside from the incredible words - standing up for your own beliefs & championing others, whilst on a platform with an audience known to have anti-woke views is so refreshing. Its not just an Instagram tile statement or performative flag in a bio. Its taking risks & doing the work.”
Another person said: “New queen just dropped. watch how the others go from rolling their eyes at the subject matter to silently feeling mortified.”
Ashley then took to social media to address the matter.
She posted: “Oh wow I’ve just seen my mentions and this has blown up. thanks everyone. It’s such a huge privilege to get to talk about these topics on @thismorning.”
