Big Brother viewers have already worked out why they recognise housemate Emma

Big Brother viewers have already worked out why they recognise housemate Emma

Big Brother kicked off last night and viewers are hooked already

Big Brother, arguably the most iconic reality show to ever exist, landed back on our screens last night (6 October) and viewers have already recognised one housemate from another TV appearance.

The series, which sequestered 16 ordinary people in the Big Brother House last night, has fans hooked already.

Co-hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best threw the latest batch of housemates into the brand spanking new house, and one newcomer proved very familiar indeed.

Emma Morgan, a 53-year-old aesthetics business owner from Altrincham, Manchester, is shaping up to be a fan favourite already.

When the glamorous mum entered the house, people ran to social media to pile on the love.

One person wrote: "Emma is my winner already," while another said: "Emma might be the icon of the season although it's too soon to tell."

A third said: "Loving Emma already, what an icon."

But once the excitement of her entering the house had settled, viewers were obsessed with trying to work out where they recognised her from.

One eagle-eyed viewer cracked the case, posting on X: "Obsessed with the fact that Emma from Big Brother is a former Page 3 model who's played a nurse in Coronation Street not once but twice #BBUK."

Emma played a nurse in Coronation Street during Tim Metcalfe's health woes. And she's also starred in Emmerdale too.

In her VT, Emma revealed what she's like and how she plans to be in the house.

She said: "I would like to think I'm the peacemaker.

"People ask me if I'm going to be the mother hen in the house - I might have times where I'm the mother hen but generally speaking I'll be one of the girls.

"I don't think I really act my age when I really should so I can't see myself acting my age in Big Brother."

She continued: "If somebody doesn't get my humour then they might think 'she's really abrupt and to the point and says it how it is' but that's my humour.

"I'm still going to be me in there but sometimes I may come across as abrupt or say 'get over yourself'."

The latest season of Big Brother's ITV reboot is the second broadcast by the channel, following the heartbreaking cancellation of the format over on Channel 4 back in 2010, and it was then axed again by Channel 5 in 2018.

This year's winner will walk away with a life-changing £100,000.

Big Brother continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
