They say when one door closes, another one opens. And such seems to be the case when it comes to good old British reality telly this week.
That's right, as we bid a tragic goodbye to Love Island after a long, hot summer of head-spinning drama, we say hello to another much-loved, star-studded series, which is set to make a return in the coming weeks.
We are, of course, talking about Big Brother, after ITV this evening (Monday 29 July) confirmed that the long-standing reality TV hit is officially on its way back.

The series made its triumphant return last year, having previously been cancelled by Channel 4 in 2010 and by Channel 5 in 2018.

Produced by Initial, which is part of Banijay UK, the new version of Big Brother launched on its new home this autumn with 3.6 million viewers across ITV1, STV ITV2 and ITVX in a ‘disruptive' multi-channel takeover.
The subsequent big-name version - which aired earlier this year and boasted a mega line-up, including the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Ekin-Su - also proved to be a massive success.
Corrie's Colson Smith became a fan-favourite, whilst Ibiza Weekender boss David Potts went on to win the whole series.
And since that day, fans of the legendary noughties hit have been dying to see the show return to screens.

And according to a brand new teaser clip - which aired both on TV and debuted on social media - ITV have confirmed that the show is finally coming back 'this autumn'.
The video sees the iconic Big Brother symbol - a colossal eyeball - drapped in hot, sticky, dripping liquid.
"The original social experiment is back. Big Brother returns this autumn to ITV2 and ITVX #BBUK," the video was captioned.

It is understood that 2023 presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best will retain their positions as hosts, as per Deadline.
And by the sounds of things, fans of the show cannot WAIT to sink their teeth into a brand new instalment.
"Yay 27/4 live feed please" one wrote in the comments, while another said: "I can't wait!!!"
"Ahh let’s goooooo finally! So excited" a third admitted.

"big brother series 21 just teased on itv one oh i am sat" a fourth wrote.
"Gorjus news big brothers whatS BACK !!!!!!! ! Yous can watch it this autumn on itv 2 an the itv player" someone else said.
By the sounds of things, however, not all fans are impressed with the abstract new logo.
Heading straight online, one hit out: "Looks ok. Shame it’s again so light and colourful. Bring the darker themes back!"
"Please be a promo eye and not the official one - last years was atrocious and this is even worse," a second added.
"This eye is worse than the one for last year," a third continued.
