Instagram users who found Brian Laundrie's personal account discovered 'demonic' artwork after killing his girlfriend.
The American Murder of Gabby Petito landed on Netflix earlier this week (17 February), detailing the events leading up to the killing of Gabby at the hands of her fiancé, Brian Laundrie.
Gabby was just 22 when she vanished in August 2021, after heading off on a road trip with her boyfriend Brian across the US in a campervan.

But when Brian made a quiet return home to his family home in Florida without Gabby - and failed to cooperate with police questioning -, suspicions over his involvement in her disappearance naturally arose.

Her body was eventually found on 19 September, as her travels became one she never returned from.
While the 2021 investigation was taking place, users online who had become invested in the missing woman, found Brian's personal Instagram account.

They noticed that there was 'demonic' artwork created by the killer, including a a chilling drawing of The Simpsons characters Itchy and Scratchy.
Captioning the post, which is now deleted, Brian wrote: "This was a fun one! I wanna give them little bodies with blood spraying from their necks, a lot of gore, maybe an axe or chainsaw, generic Itchy and Scratchy stuff."
One eagle-eyed user commented: "Does anyone notice the small picture in the top left side, it’s a knife."
Others alleged that the killer was 'clinically insane', and his Instagram account was soon removed from the platform.

His portfolio of work can no longer be seen by users, and it's alleged that Instagram themselves may have taken the account down.

The couple previously shared a joint YouTube channel, where they would document their trips.
The autopsy report of her body following the murder revealed that she had been killed via manual strangulation and blunt force trauma to her head and neck.

Following her death, Brian fled his home, and was found dead a month on from the discovery of Gabby's body, with his body being located in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in Florida.
However, his suicide note suggested that he had killed his girlfriend as an act of 'mercy', after finding her in pain and putting her out of her misery.
Speaking in the new documentary, Gabby's stepfather Jim Schmidt, revealed that 'not one of the versions of Brian's account was accurate', in comparison to her autopsy.
