After what felt like YEARS of agonising anticipation, Netflix producers last week dropped the third instalment of legendary period drama, Bridgerton. About time, I know!

In the hours that followed, the huge-name hit sky-rocketed to the streaming service's No.1 spot, having sent devoted fans of the show into a spin with it's steamy scenes, stellar costumes and knock-out plot twists.

And with this season having been so colossally hyped-up by dedicated fanatics, it seems as though a batch of first time viewers have jumped on the Bridgerton bandwagon.

For many fans new to the three-instalment series, however, there's one somewhat behind-the-scenes aspect of the show which has left them blown away, after slowly putting two-and-two together and making a surprisingly revelation.

If you've followed the goings on in The Ton from Day 1, you'll likely already be more than familiar with this charming feature, but apparently, some viewers are only just realising there's actually a regimented system regarding how the eight Bridgerton siblings are named.

It's true, in fact, as the gang are named alphabetically.

While the first born is named Anthony, second eldest is Benedict, followed by Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory and finally, Hyacinth.

And people can't believe they never made the connection, with one writing on Twitter this week: "It's been 3 seasons and I've only just realised something about the Bridgerton Siblings. Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, Hyacinth. How the fuck have I only figured it out now?"

Another penned: "Just realised all the Bridgerton children are named in order of the alphabet."

While a third said: "I just realised the Bridgerton siblings names are the alphabet in order. Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphane, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, Hyacinth."

And a fourth added: "I loved how Lady Bridgerton named their children using alphabet A - H – Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory and Hyacinth."

Each season of the show - based on the books by Julia Quinn - focuses on a different Bridgerton brother or sister.

While the first told the story of Daphne Bridgerton, the second honed in on eldest sibling Anthony Bridgerton, and his quest to find a wife to be Viscountess Bridgerton.

Season three - which landed last week - tells the stories of third-eldest brother Colin and his friends-to-lovers romance with long-term pal Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan)

And series four - which has already been confirmed - will apparently delve slightly deeper into the second eldest brother, Benedict Bridgerton.
